Using The Secret Memory

For privacy, the EC-370 Lets you store records of all types in a secret
memory area, which can be accessed only by entering a password that you
choose.

Accessing The Secret Memory Area

1. Press MENU to display the main menu, then select the icon (telephone,
memo, reminder, or schedule) for the type of record you want to store
    in the secret memory area.

2. Press (key symbol). SECRET and PASSWORD? Appear.

Note: The first time you store a secret record, -NEW ENTRY- also
          appears.

3. If you are storing your first secret record, enter the password you
want to use (up to 47 letters, numbers, and/or symbols).

IMPORTANT: Choose a password you can easily remember. If you forget
your password, you will be unable to access any of the
records you stored in the secret memory. You can reset the
EC-370 (see "Resetting the EC-370" in Faxback Doc. # 61495)
and store a new password; however, this deletes all stored
               records.

If you already registered a password, enter that password.

4. Press (key symbol) again to enter the password. OK PASSWORD OK!
appears briefly then (key symbol) and the last selected function
    appear on the display.

Notes: When (key symbol) appears on the display, the number of DATA
ITEMS shows you how many records of this type are stored in the
           secret memory area.

If you enter an incorrect password, PASSWORD MISMATCH appears
briefly then the PASSWORD? prompt reappears. Enter the correct
password or press ESC to return to the last selected function.

If you are storing your first secret record, OK PASSWORD
REGISTERED! appears, then (key symbol) and the last selected
           function appear.

While you are in the secret memory area, you can store, recall,
and maintain (edit, move, copy, or delete) all types of records
in the same way you do in the open memory area.

5. When you finish using the secret memory, you can let the EC-370 turn
off automatically. The next time someone turns on the EC-370, the last
selected function appears in the open memory ((key symbol) does not
    appear).

Or to exit the secret memory immediately so no one can see your secret
records before the EC-370 turns off, simply press (key symbol). (key
    symbol) disappears from the display.
