Removing The Battery Insulation Slips

Your EC-370 comes with two battery insulation slips, designed to preserve 
battery power.  Before you use the EC-370, you must remove the battery 
insulation slips.

Each slip has a tab that extends outside the battery compartment cover.
To remove each slip, grasp its tab and firmly pull on it.

Note: If you are unable to easily slide a slip out of the compartment, you 
      can open the battery compartment cover to remove the slips.  See
      "Replacing the Batteries" in Faxback Doc. # 61495 for instructions
      on removing the cover.

Opening/Closing The Cover

The EC-370's keys and display are protected by a cover to prevent damage 
or unwanted input.  To open the cover, press the tab on the front of the 
EC-370 and lift up the cover.

To close the cover, press it down until it locks into place.
