EC-239 3K Memory Vertical Style Electronic Organizer
(650-0765) Security Faxback Doc. # 51803

Using The Security Code

The EC-239's security code lets you prevent others from viewing or
changing any accounts you set. You can also lock directory/memo records
and schedule alarms to prevent others from viewing or changing them.

If the security code is set, only the first 6 characters of a
directory/memo record appear when you recall it, and only the schedule
alarm date and time appear when you recall it. To view the rest of the
directory/memo record or schedule alarm, you must enter the security code.

Changing The Security Code

The security code is preset to 000. You can change it to any other three
digit code. Follow these steps to change the security code.

1. If the date and time do not appear, press (clock symbol).

2. Press LOCK. CODE - - - appears.

3. Enter the current security code.

The security code is preset to 000. If you previously changed the
security code, enter the code you set. CODE and the current security
    code appear.

Note: If CODE - - - remains on the display, the EC-239 does not
recognize the code you entered. If you cannot remember the
code, you must re-initialize the EC-239 so it recognizes the
preset code (000). Initializing the EC-239 also clears all
information from memory. See "Initializing the EC-239" in
           Faxback Doc. # 51800.

4. Enter the desired three-digit security code. CODE and the new
    security code appear.

5. Press LOCK. The time and date display reappears.

Locking a Directory/Memo Record

You can lock a record after you enter it, or recall a record and then lock
it.

While the record appears on the display, hold down LOCK until LOCK and the
phone number appear. Then release LOCK. After a few seconds, the first
six characters of the record and - - - appear.

Recalling a Locked Directory/Memo Record

in Faxback Doc. # 51801. The first six characters of the record and
    - - - appear.

2. Hold down LOCK for about 2 seconds. CODE - - - appears.

3. Enter the security code. The display shows the first 12 characters of
    both parts of the record.

Locking a Schedule Alarm

You can lock a schedule alarm when you enter it, or you can recall a
schedule alarm and then lock it.

While the schedule alarm appears on the display, hold down LOCK until LOCK
and the alarm time and date appear. Then release LOCK. After a few seconds
CODE and the alarm time and date appear.

Recalling a Locked Schedule Alarm

1. Recall the schedule alarm as described in "Schedule Alarms" in Faxback
Doc. # 51801. CODE - - - and the alarm time and date appear.

Unlocking a Record or Alarm

If you no longer want to enter the security code to recall a record or
alarm, follow these steps to unlock the record or alarm.

1. Recall the locked record or alarm as described in "Recalling a Locked
    Schedule Alarm" above.

2. When the record or alarm appears, hold down LOCK for about 2 seconds.

-UNLOCK- appears to show that the record or alarm is unlocked.
