(650-0764) Care and Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 51178
To enjoy your RadioShack EC-238 10K Electronic Organizer for a long time:
Keep the organizer dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
Use and store the organizer only in normal temperature environments.
Handle the organizer gently and carefully. Don't drop it.
Keep the organizer away from dust and dirt.
Wipe the organizer with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking
new.
Modifying or tampering with the organizer's internal components can cause
a malfunction and invalidate its warranty. If your organizer is not
performing as it should, take it to your local RadioShack store for
assistance.
Replacing The Batteries
Your organizer comes with two CR-2032 button-cell batteries for power and
memory backup. When the organizer's display dims or stops working
properly, replace the main battery. To protect the records stored in your
organizer, replace the backup battery about once a year. We recommend
RadioShack Cat. No. 23-162 for both main and backup batteries.
CAUTIONS: Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended
type.
Never remove both batteries at the same time and do not press
any buttons while replacing batteries. If you do, you could
lose stored information.
To protect the stored information, remove each battery one at a
time and replace it as quickly as possible.
1. Press ON/OFF to turn off the organizer, then close the cover.
2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw from the backup battery
compartment cover, then remove the cover.
3. Gently pry out the old battery. With the positive (+) side facing up,
slide the new battery under the two tabs inside the compartment and
press it in place. Replace the cover and the screw.
4. To replace the main battery, slide the battery compartment cover in
the direction of the arrow on the cover to remove it.
5. Gently pry out the old battery. Then, with the positive (+) side
facing up, slide the new battery under the two tabs inside the
compartment and press it in place. Replace the cover.
CAUTIONS: Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or
bury them.
Always remove old or weak batteries. Batteries can leak
chemicals that can destroy electronic parts.
Keep batteries out of reach of children. Swallowing a battery
could be fatal.
