EC-339 Rolodex 64K Pocket Data Directory
(650-0939) Power Faxback Doc. # 50668
Replacing Batteries
Your data directory is powered from two CR2430 lithium batteries and one
CR2016 lithium battery.
If the screen becomes dim, you need to replace the batteries.
1. Remove the four screws from the back of the data directory, and remove
the back.
2. Remove the screw securing the spring clips that hold the two larger
batteries.
CAUTION: Do not remove the small battery until you replace the larger
batteries. If you remove all three batteries at once, your
data directory loses all memory contents.
3. Replace the large batteries with new CR2430 lithium batteries, and
replace their spring clips and secure their clips with the screws.
4. Remove the screw securing the clip that holds the smaller battery.
5. Replace the small battery with a new CR2016 lithium battery, and
replace its spring clip and secure its clip with the screw.
WARNING: Immediately dispose of the old batteries! Do not let children
play with the batteries. Swallowing a lithium battery could be
fatal.
If your data directory does not function after replacing the batteries,
try pressing [RESET] on the bottom of the data directory using a ballpoint
pen. If this does not correct the problem, you might have to clear all
information from your data directory. See "Resetting Your Data Directory",
in Faxback Doc. # 50670.
To avoid serious damage caused by leaking batteries, replace batteries at
least once every year, regardless of how much you use your data directory.
Automatic Power Off
To save battery power, your data directory automatically turns off about
3-1/2 minutes after your last key press. To restore power, press [INSTR],
[ENTER], or any feature button.
Turning The Keytone ON and OFF
Your data directory sounds a tone each time you press a key. To turn off
the keytone, press and hold [SPACE]. Then, press K. Repeat this procedure
to turn the keytone back on.
