Your organizer comes with an insulation slip that helps preserve battery
power during shipping. Before using the organizer, gently pull the slip
out of the battery compartment.

TURNING ON THE ORGANIZER

Press [ON/OFF] to turn on the organizer.

Press [ON/OFF] again to turn it off. The organizer automatically turns
off if you do not press a key for about 4 minutes.

TURNING THE KEY TONE ON/OFF

You can set the organizer to sound a tone each time you press a key. To
turn this key tone on or off, first go to the date/time display. If you
see a different function display, press [TIME/ALARM], so the date/time
display appears.

To turn on the key tone, press [Music Note Symbol]/[B]. (Music Note
Symbol) appears at the top of the display to show the key tone is turned
on.

To turn the key tone off, press [Music Note Symbol]/[B] again. A beep
sounds and (Music Note Symbol) disappears from the display.

SETTING THE DAY/DATE/TIME

1. Press [TIME/ALARM] (if necessary) so the date/time display appears.

2. If A (AM) or P (PM) appears before the hour, this means the time is
shown in the 12-hour format. To switch the time between the 12- and
    24-hour formats, press [12/24]/[T].

3. Hold down [SET] for about 2 seconds. Input appears in the upper left
corner and the first year digit flashes. Use the number keys to enter
the year, month, date, hour, and minutes.

Notes: To enter a single digit (1-9), press [0] first. For example,
            to enter 8, press [0] then [8].

If you make a mistake when entering numbers, repeatedly press
[<] or [>] until the number you want to change flashes. Then
            enter the correct number.

4. If the time is in the 12-hour format, press [AM/PM]/[Z] (if necessary)
to select A for AM or P for PM.

5. Repeatedly press [DAY]/[N] until the correct day of the week appears.

6. Press [SET] to store the settings. The second digits begin counting
    from 00 and Input disappears.

DIRECTORY

Each record in the directory has two lines. The first line is for names
and other important information. The second line is for a telephone
number.

STORING DIRECTORY RECORDS

1. Press [Phone Symbol] then [STORE]. NAME?, the number of available
memory units, and the percentage of free memory appear. Input appears
    in the upper left corner.

2. Enter the person's or company's name, plus any other information up to
    24 characters, including spaces.

Notes: Press [SPACE] to enter a space. Press [ERASE] to delete the
flashing character at the cursor position.

If you enter more than 12 characters, they scroll off the left
side of the display and < appears. The characters reappear
when you recall the record (see "Recalling Directory Record's"
below) or when you press [<] and scroll to the beginning of
            the line.

Because the records are stored in alphabetical order by the
first few characters, we recommend you enter the contact's
            last name first.

3. Press [SET]. The cursor moves to the second line.

4. Enter the telephone number(s), up to 24 digits (including spaces).

           Records", below).

SCHEDULE ALARMS

you want. When the schedule alarm is turned on, the organizer beeps for
about 20 seconds at the set alarm time and displays the stored message,
date, and time. Press any key to silence the alarm sooner.

Notes: Because pressing any key turns off the alarm, the schedule alarm
might not sound (and the message might not appear) if you are
entering information precisely at the set schedule alarm time.

If the schedule alarm sounds and the alarm message appears while
you are entering information, the information you entered might
        not be stored.

If the organizer has turned off and the information you have
entered is protected by a security code (see "Security Code" in
Faxback Doc. # 49913), the schedule alarm sounds and LOCK and
_ _ _ _ appear, but not the alarm message. To display the
message, you must enter the security code.

necessary) to select A (for AM) or P (for PM).

Note: You must enter two digits each for the month, date, hour, and
minute. For example, to enter June 14 at 1:15, type 06-14 for
the date and 01-15 for the time. (Do not type the hyphen. It
           appears automatically.)

5. Press [SET] to store the record. SCHEDULE? appears and input
    disappears.

Notes: If you entered an invalid date or time, such as 12-38 for the
date or 29-15 for the time, the current date and time
            reappear. Repeat Step 4.

If not enough storage space is available, FULL appears, and
the new schedule alarm record is not stored. Delete outdated
directory or schedule alarm records to free memory space (see
"Deleting Directory Records", above, or "Deleting Schedule
