USING THE SECURITY CODE

The security feature lets you limit access to information stored in the
EC-336.

When you recall a locked directory/memo record, only the first six
characters of the record appear.  To view the rest of the record, to edit
the record, or to delete the record, you must enter the security code.

When you recall a locked schedule alarm, only the schedule alarm time and
date appear.  To view the alarm message, to edit the schedule alarm, or to
delete it, you must enter the security code.

The account manager feature automatically requires the security code.

CHANGING THE SECURITY CODE

The security code is preset to 000.  To change the security code, do the
following:

1.  Press (TIME).

2.  Press (LOCK).  CODE - - - appears.

3.  Enter the current security code.

4.  Enter the desired three-digit security code.

5.  Press (LOCK).  The time and date display return.

LOCKING A DIRECTORY/MEMO RECORD

Use these steps to lock a record:

1.  Recall the directory/memo record you want to lock.  See "Recalling a
    Directory/Memo Record", in Faxback Doc. # 48887.

2.  Press and hold (LOCK) for about two seconds.

    LOCK appears on the display.  Then, the first six characters of the
    record and --- appear.

RECALLING A LOCKED DIRECTORY/MEMO RECORD

Use these steps to recall a locked record:

1.  Recall the record as described in "Recalling a Directory/Memo Record"
    in Faxback Doc. # 48887.  The first six characters of the record and
    - - - appear on the display.

2.  Press and hold (LOCK) for about two seconds.  CODE - - - appears.

3.  Enter the security code.  The display shows the first 12 characters of
    both parts of the record.

LOCKING A SCHEDULE ALARM

Use these steps to lock a schedule alarm:

1.  Recall the schedule alarm you want to lock.  See "Recalling a Schedule
    Alarm" in Faxback Doc. # 48887.

2.  Press and hold (LOCK) for about two seconds.

    LOCK and the alarm time and date appear on the display.  Then, CODE
    and the alarm time and date appear.

RECALLING A LOCKED SCHEDULE ALARM

Use these steps to recall a locked schedule alarm:

1.  Recall the schedule alarm as described in "Recalling a Schedule Alarm"
    in Faxback Doc. # 48887.  CODE - - - and the alarm time and date
    appear.

2.  Enter the security code.  The alarm message is displayed.

UNLOCKING A RECORD OR ALARM

To unlock a record or alarm, so that you can recall it without entering
the security code, do the following:

1.  Recall the locked record or alarm as described earlier in this
    section.

2.  When the record or alarm appears, press and hold (LOCK) for about two
    seconds.  -UNLOCK- appears.
