TURNING THE EC-391 ON AND OFF

To turn on the EC-391, press any of the main function keys.  To turn off
the EC-391, press OFF.

If you do not press a key within about 3 minutes, your EC-391
automatically turns off to save battery power.

TURNING THE KEY TONE ON AND OFF

If the key tone is on, your EC-391 beeps each time you press a key.  To
turn off the key tone (or turn it back on again), press (clock symbol)
TIME.  Then, while the clock/calendar appears on the display, press K.

ENTERING TELEPHONE FILES, SCHEDULE REMINDERS, OR AN ALARM

1.  Press (Rolodex symbol) [NAME], (Notepad symbol) [SCHED], or
    (Alarm symbol) [ALARM], then press [ENTER].  In the telephone or
    scheduler mode, the first character of CONTACTS? or SCHEDULE? flashes.
    In the alarm mode, the first digit of the hour flashes.

2.  Enter the information.

3.  Press [ENTER] to store each entry.

RECALLING FILES

To recall a telephone file, press (Rolodex symbol) [NAME] and enter the
first few letters of the person's name, or press (Rolodex symbol) [NAME]
until TEL.NO.? appears and enter the last few digits of the phone/fax
number.  Then press [ENTER].

To recall a scheduler file, press (Notepad symbol) [SCHED], then press
[\/] or [/\] to scroll forward or backward through the files.

To recall an alarm time, press (Clock symbol) [ALARM].

EDITING FILES

1.  Recall the telephone or scheduler file.

2.  Press [ERASE].  The cursor appears under the first character.

3.  Repeatedly press [>] until the cursor appears under the character you
    want to edit or erase.

4.  Press [ERASE] again to delete the incorrect information.

5.  Enter the correct information, then press [ENTER] to move to the phone
    number or date.

6.  Enter the correct information, then press [ENTER] to store the
    corrected entry.

DELETING FILES

1.  Recall the telephone or scheduler file.

2.  Press and hold down [ERASE] until CONTACTS? or SCHEDULE? and the
    remaining memory appear on the display.

    CAUTION:  Be sure you want to delete the file before you press and
              hold down [ERASE].  The deleted file cannot be recovered.
