VOICE RECOGNITION

Your Voice Organizer will respond to your voice for entering and reviewing
appointments in your calendar, and entering and retrieving phone numbers
in your directory. To familiarize it with the way you talk, you'll set up
voice recognition by saying 31 words the same way you'll say them when
setting appointments.

Setting Up Voice Recognition

Sit in a quiet room away from background noise.

Hold your Voice Organizer 6-8 inches from your mouth.

Press STOP ([]) to be sure you're at the current time and date display.

Hold down the TRAIN button until "ZERO" blinks on the display.

  Hold down the RECORD button.

Say [the words that appear on the display as prompted by the double
beep.] Speak naturally but clearly. (Your Voice Organizer will take
you through each word at least twice.)

Release the RECORD button when SAVED scrolls across the screen.

HINT: You can pause for up to 30 seconds during voice recognition setup
by releasing the RECORD button. Resume by holding down RECORD and
       following the screen prompts.

Congratulations! Your Voice Organizer is now ready for use. You should
read the sections on memos, reminders and the phone directory before using
these features.

Follow the instructions on this page only if you are having problems with
the voice recognition, otherwise go to Faxback Doc. # 47242 and continue.

Changing One Word

You can easily change the way you say a word for better voice recognition.

Hold down the TRAIN button until "ZERO" blinks on the display.

Press (<) or (>) to find the word you want to change.

  Hold down the RECORD button.

Say [the word.] When the display flashes the word again repeat it.
Then "SAVED" scrolls across the screen.

  Release the RECORD button.

Changing All Words for Better Voice Recognition

If your Voice Organizer misses some of your commands, you may want to
change the way you say several words. To erase them all and start over,
follow these quick steps, beginning from the basic clock display.

Hold down the TRAIN button until "ZERO" blinks on the display.

Hold down the ERASE button until you hear the double beep. ("ERASING"
indicates your voice recognition setup is deleted, but your phone
numbers and memos are safe!) "ZERO" flashes on the screen.

Hold down the RECORD button while you re-record the way you say all 31
  words.

HINT: You could say "morning" and "afternoon," rather than a.m. and p.m.

HINT: You can set up voice recognition in any language.
