and other important information. The second line is for a telephone
number.

1. Press [telephone symbol]. TELEPHONE, [telephone symbol], and the
amount of available memory briefly appear, then NAME? appears.

Notes: Press SPACE/VIEW to enter a space. Press [eraser symbol] to
           erase the last character entered.

If you enter more than 12 characters, they scroll off the left
side of the display and (<) appears. The characters reappear
when you recall the record (see "Recalling a Directory Record"
           below).

Because the records are stored in alphabetical order by the
first few characters, we recommend you enter the contacts last
           name first.

3. Press [Enter]. TELEPHONE? appears.

4. Enter the telephone number, up to 12 digits (no spaces).

5. Press [Enter] to store the record.

Note: If not enough storage space is available, a beep sounds, FULL

"Deleting a Directory Record" or "Deleting a Schedule Alarm Record"
       below).

you want. When the schedule alarm is turned on, the organizer beeps for
1 minute at the set alarm time, and displays the stored message, date and
time. Press any key to silence the alarm sooner.

entering information precisely at the set schedule alarm time.

If the schedule alarm sounds and the alarm message appears while
you are entering information, the information you entered might
        not be stored.

If the organizer has turned off and the information you have
entered is protected by a security code, the schedule alarm sounds
and - - - - and LOCKED appear, but not the alarm message. To

symbol) in that schedule alarm record.

If you press N, the message, date, and time you entered are stored in
    the schedule alarm records.

Note: If not enough storage space is available, a beep sounds, FULL,
appears, and the new schedule alarm record is not stored. Delete

(see "Deleting a Directory Record:" above or "Deleting a Schedule

USING THE SECURITY CODE

The security code lets you block unauthorized access to directory records
and Schedule alarm records.

Once you set the security code, all the records are locked. You must
enter the code before you can enter or recall a record.

Note: The organizer automatically turns itself off if you do not press a
key for about 4 minutes. Even if you selected a record before the
organizer turned off, you must enter your security code to access
       that record again.

SETTING THE SECURITY CODE

1. Press [clock symbol].

2. Press the key below [key symbol]. ---- and LOCK appear.

3. Enter a four digit security code.

CAUTIONS: Be sure to use a code you can remember such as your mother's
birthday. You can also write it down in a safe place. If
you forget the security code, you cannot access your
directory or schedule alarm records. All you can do is
clear the code along with all your stored information (see
"Clearing the Organizer's Memory" in Faxback Doc. # 46686).

Be careful when setting the security code. If you
accidentally enter a number that is not what you want to
use, you must finish these steps to store the incorrect
number, then follow the procedure to change it. If this
happens, write down the 4 digit code you entered and see
              "Changing the Security Code" below.

4. Press [Enter]. The current date and time appear, along with [key
symbol] showing that all directory and schedule alarm records are
    locked.

8 x 3 - 4 = 20.

To clear the display for a new calculation, press [calculator symbol]
twice so 0. appears, then begin the new calculation.

If you press an incorrect operator key, simply press the correct key and
continue your calculation.

CALCULATION ERRORS

(E) appears to the left of the numbers when:

A calculation result exceeds 10 digits to the left of the decimal
point. This is an overflow error (see "Estimating Calculation
   Results", below).

You try to divide by 0.

If (E) appears, press [calculator symbol] to clear the error.

ESTIMATING CALCULATION RESULTS

If you perform an operation that results in an overflow error, you can
estimate the correct result (to 10 significant digits) by following these
steps.

1. Count the number of digits displayed to the left of the decimal point.

2. Remove the decimal point.

3. Add as many zeros to the right of the number as there were digits to
the left of the decimal point.

For example, If E 1.234567891 appears, the approximate answer is
12,345,678,910. If E 98.53893456 appears, the approximate answer is
985,389,345,600.

    the primary currency.

For example, if the primary currency is the U.S. dollar and the
secondary currency is the Mexican peso, and if it takes about 7.5
pesos to equal $1.00, enter an exchange rate of 7.5.

Note: If you enter an incorrect value, press [calculator symbol] once.
