12K Electronic Organizer with Tone Dialer
(650-0744) Care and Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 46505

Your RadioShack 12K Electronic Organizer and Tone Dialer is an example of
superior design and craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help
you care for your organizer so you can enjoy it for years.

Keep the organizer dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
Liquids might contain minerals that can corrode the electronic circuits.

Use and store the organizer only in normal temperature environments.
Temperature extremes can shorten the life of electronic devices, damage
batteries, and distort or melt plastic parts.

Keep the organizer away from dust and dirt, which can cause premature
  wear of parts.

Handle the organizer gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage
circuit boards and cases and can cause the organizer to work improperly.

Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type. Batteries can
leak chemicals that damage your organizer's electronic parts.

Wipe the organizer with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking
new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong
  detergents to clean the organizer.

Modifying or tampering with your organizer's internal components can cause
a malfunction and might invalidate the organizer's warranty. If your
organizer is not performing as it should, take it to your local
RadioShack store for assistance.

Replacing The Batteries

The organizer uses two CR2032 lithium batteries for main power, with a
CR1220 lithium battery for backup. When the display dims or stops working
properly, replace the main batteries. We recommend RadioShack Cat. No.
23-162.

CAUTIONS: Never remove all three batteries at the same time. If you do,
you could lose the stored information.

Be sure you turn off your organizer when replacing batteries.
Otherwise, you might lose stored information.

Replacing the Main Batteries

1. Press OFF to turn off the organizer.

2. Slide off the main battery compartment cover in the direction of the
    arrow on the cover.

3. Use a pointed object, such as a straightened paper clip, to pry up the
    batteries, then remove them.

CAUTION: Take care not to damage the circuit board while removing the
              batteries.

4. Insert two fresh batteries with their positive (+) sides up.

5. Replace the cover.

WARNINGS: Keep batteries out of reach of children. Swallowing a lithium
           battery could be fatal.

To avoid risk of explosion, do not recharge, open, or heat a
lithium battery or dispose of it in fire.

Replacing the Backup Battery

To protect the date stored in your organizer, replace the back up battery
once a year. We recommend Cat. No. 23-188.

CAUTION: When replacing the back-up battery, be sure the two main
          batteries are installed.

1. Press OFF to turn off the organizer.

2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw from the backup battery
compartment cover. Then carefully lift off the cover.

Note: Be careful not to lose the screw.

3. Remove the old battery.

4. Insert a fresh battery with its positive (+) side up.

5. Replace the cover and secure it with the screw.
