Recalling Stored Records

You can search for stored telephone, memo, and schedule records in either 
of these ways:

Sequentially - The organizer moves through telephone and memo records in
               alphanumeric order, and moves through schedule records in
               chronological order based on the date entered in the record.

Initial Character - The organizer searches telephone and memo records for
  Search            the first few characters in the record and searches
                    schedule records for the schedule date or event name  
                    (depending on the option you select).

Sequential Search

1. From the main menu, select the icon for the icon for the desired 
   function.  The information screen for the function you selected appears.

2. Press \/ or > to display the first record on the index display, or /\ 
   or < to display the last record on the index display.

3. To move within one screen , press \/ or /\.  To scroll through the 
   records, press < ir > until the desired record appears.

4. When you locate the desired record, press EXE to view its details.

5. To return to the index display, press ESC/ON.

Initial Character Search

1. From the main menu, select the icon for the desired function.  The 
   information screen for the function you selected appears.

2. If you are searching for a telephone or memo record, enter the first
   few characters of the name or memo subject.

   If you are searching for a scheduled event, enter the first few
   characters of the event name.  If you are searching for a schedule
   record for a specific date, press <, then enter the desired date,
   month, and year.

Note:  When searching for an event name, the organizer searches for
       characters in the same case you entered them.  For example, if you
       are searching for a memo you entered as Get Bread at Store, you 
       must enter the G, B, and S as upper-case characters.

3. Press SEARCH.  The first record that matches the information you entered
   in Step 2 appears.

4. Use the arrow keys to scroll through the records until the desired 
   record appears.

Note: If the  organizer finds no more matching records, NOT FOUND! appears.
      Then, if you want to do a sequential search, press Up or Down arrow.

5. When you locate the desired record, press EXE to view its details.

6. To return to the index display, press ESC/ON.

Multiple Mode Search

You can search through all the organizer's records regardless of the
record type or field-TEL(1), TEL(2), MEMO, and schedule.

1. From the main menu, select the magnifying glass symbol Search? appears.

2. Enter the first few characters of the record.  Then press EXE or
   SEARCH.

   If you want to search a telephone record by its first number, enter
   the last 4 digits of the number.  To search a record using the second
   (fax) number, press < then enter the fax number and press EXE or
   SEARCH.

Note:  If you enter less than or more than 4 digits and press EXE or
       SEARCH, the organizer moves through the numbers in alphanumeric
       order.

3. Use the arrow keys to scroll through the records.  Press EXE to view
   the details of the record.

Note:  You cannot edit or delete records during multiple mode search.

Last Eight Record Recall (Telephone Directories only)

You can recall the last eight telephone directory records you viewed so
you do not have to enter telephone directory information to recall
frequently used numbers.

Simply press symbol at the main menu, then press EXER.  Use the arrow keys
to scroll through records.  Press EXE to view the details of a record.

Notes:  Each time you enter or recall the details of a record then press
        MENU to exit, the record is stored in this recall memory, thereby
        pushing out the oldest one from memory.

        If you want to keep a record in the recall memory, without it
        being pushed out, display the details of that record and press <,
        LOCKED! briefly appears, then * appears on the bottom of the 
        display.  The record will not be deleted from last eight record
        recall even if you enter/recall another record.  To unlock the 
        record, display it and press <.  UNLOCKED! briefly appears and *
        disappears.

Editing A Stored Record

1. From the main menu, select the icon for the desired function.  The 
   information screen for the function you selected appears.

2. Display the record you want to edit.

3. Press <.  Symbol appears at the bottom of the display, and the cursor
   blinks.

4. Use <, >, Up, or Down Arrow to move the cursor to the character you
   want to edit.

   To delete a character/space, press DEL.

   To insert a character/space, simply enter the desired character/space.
   All characters to the right of the cursor move one space to the right.

Note:  If you are editing a field that has a predetermined format (for
       example, the month and date in the schedule), you must type new
       data over the old instead of pressing DEL or inserting a character.

5. When you finish editing, move the cursor to the last item of the record,
   then press EXE.  STORED! briefly appears, then the edited record 
   reappears.

Copying Records

You can copy a record within TEL1, TEL2, MEMO, or SCHEDULE.  This is
convenient when you want to enter telephone numbers for several people in
the same company, for example.

1. From the main menu, select the icon for the desired function.  The 
   information screen for the function you selected appears.

2. Display the record you want to edit.

3. Press SHIFT, then COPY.COPY? appears.

4. To copy the selected record, press EXE. COPY! appears briefly, then the
   copied record appears.

5. Edit the record as necessary, then move the cursor to the last item of
   the record and press EXE. STORED! briefly appears, then the edited
   record reappears.

Deleting Records

The organizer lets you delete records individually, or all records of one
type at the same time.

Deleting a Single Record

Note:  You can also use this procedure to delete a world time city name,
       a conversion rate, or all conversion pairs.  You cannot use this
       procedure to delete the currently selected home time and world time
       cities.

1. From the main menu, select the icon for the desired function.  The 
   display shows the information screen for the function you selected.

2. Highlight the record you want to delete.

3. Press SHIFT, then press PAGE DEL.  DELETE Y/N? appears.

4. To delete the selected record, press Y or EXE. DELETED! appears briefly,
   then the display returns to the initial screen.

   To cancel the procedure and keep the record, press N.

Deleting All Records of One Type

You can delete all records of a single type.  For example, you can delete
all schedule records at one time.

Note:  You can also use this procedure to delete all world times and
       conversion rates you entered.

1. From the main menu, select the icon for the desired function.  The 
   information screen for the function you selected appears.

2. Press SHIFT, then press MODE DEL.  MODE DELETE Y/N? appears.

3. To delete all the records of that type, press Y.  MODE DELETE OK?
   appears.

   To cancel the procedure and keep the record(s), press N.

4. Press Your EXE. DELETED! appears briefly, then the initial screen
   reappears.
