EC-388 Data Directory
(650-0720) Care and Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 45696
To enjoy your RadioShack EC-388 Data Directory for a long time:
Keep the EC-388 dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
Handle the EC-388 gently and carefully. Do not drop it or carry it in a
pocket, for example, where it might get bent or twisted.
Use and store the EC-388 only in normal temperature environments.
Note: At very low temperatures, the display's response time might slow
down or it might fail completely. This is only temporary. Your
EC-388 returns to normal operation at warmer temperatures.
Keep the EC-388 away from dust and dirt.
Wipe the EC-388 with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.
Modifying or tampering with your EC-388's internal components can cause a
malfunction and might invalidate the directory's warranty. If your EC-388
is not performing as it should, take it to your local RadioShack store for
assistance.
Replacing The Battery
Your EC-388 is powered by one CR-2016H lithium battery (RadioShack Cat.
No. 23-160). When the EC-388's display dims or stops working properly,
replace the battery.
IMPORTANT: To avoid losing all information stored in the EC-388's memory:
Always turn off the EC-388 before you replace the battery.
Install the new battery within 1 minute after you remove the
old battery.
Do not press any keys while you replace the battery.
CAUTION: Always use a fresh battery of the required size and type.
Follow these steps to replace the EC-388's battery.
1. Turn off the EC-388.
2. Remove the screw in the battery compartment cover using a small Phillips
screwdriver, then lift up the cover to remove it.

battery, then gently pry up on the battery to remove it.
4. Insert a new battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
5. Replace the cover, then reinsert and tighten the screw.
