Speed Dial List
The speed dial list lets you quickly access your most important or often-
used telephone numbers. You can then use the auto-dialer to call a number
on the list.
Note: You can transfer records already stored in the card file to the speed
dial list, so you don't need to re-enter the same information. See
"Copying a Card File Record to the Speed Dial List."
Entering Speed Dial Records
1. Press ENTER.
2. Press SPEED DIAL LIST. You see:
TYPE LAST-FIRST NAME
TEL#
3. Type in the person's or company's name you want to store (up to 24
characters). Then press RETURN.
Note: If you want to recall records in alphabetical order by last name,
type in the person's last name first.
4. Type in the telephone number you want to store (up to 19 digits).
5. To store more records, press RETURN to store the record and repeat
Steps 3-4.
To enter another mode, press any mode key to store the record and enter
that mode.
Noise: If you typed in a space, number, or symbol (for example #, -, +)
as the first character of the name, INVALID FILE appears and the
record is not stored. The first character of the name must be a
letter.
If you do not enter information into the TEL# field, INVALID FILE
appears and the record is not stored.
Copying A Card File Record To The Speed Dial List
1. Recall the card file record you want to copy to the speed dial list
(see "Recalling Card File Records" on Faxback Doc. # 45488).
2. Press (((- COPY TO. You see:
1. A ROLODEX PRODUCT
FROM LIST "A"
2. A ROLODEX PRODUCT
FROM LIST "B"
3. SPEED DIAL LIST
TO CHOOSE, TYPE 1-3
3. Press 3 (SPEED DIAL LIST). INFORMATION IS BEING COPIED AND TRANSFERRED
TO THE SPEED DIAL LIST appears. The name and the telephone number in
the recalled record are copied to the speed dial list.
Recalling Speed Dial Records
1. Press SPEED DIAL LIST. You see:
TYPE IN THE NAME OF A
PERSON OR COMPANY
2. Press > to display the Speed Dial List with the first four entries.
Then press \/ or /\ to scroll through the list line by line. Or, press
NEXT or LAST to scroll through the list page by page.
Or, type in the first letter of the person's or company's name. The
matched name appears at the top of the SPEED Dial List along with the
next three records in alphabetical order.
Notes: If more than one record begins with the specified letter,
PLEASE TYPE NEXT LETTER appears.
If you do not type in the next character, after about 2 seconds
the first matched name appears at the top of the SPEED Dial List
along with the next three entries in alphabetical order.
If the speed dial records on the display are not the ones you
want, press \/ to scroll through the records in alphanumeric
order.
If no record starts with the letter you typed, NO FILE MATCH
PLEASE TRY AGAIN appears.
3. To exit, press any mode key.
Auto-Dialing A Speed Dial Number
If you have touch-tone service, the EC-382 can also dial a phone number
stored in a speed dial record.
Follow these steps to auto-dial a phone number stored in a speed dial
record.
1. Recall the record with the telephone number you want to call (see
"Recalling Speed Dial Records").
2. Lift the telephone's handset (or press the appropriate button on the
phone for hands-free operation) and listen for a dial tone.
3. Press the number (1-4) that corresponds to the entry you want to call.
The organizer automatically dials the telephone number.
