This section describes how to store records that can only be accessed with
your own personal password. This section also describes how to enter and
change your personal password.
To edit a confidential file record, see "Editing a Record" on Faxback Doc.

Storing The Password
Follow these steps to store your password for the first time or after you
initialize your organizer.
Notes: The password (1-5 characters long) can be letters or numbers, or a
combination of both. (But 0000 is not a valid password because it
is used to delete confidential records.)
Choose a password you can easily remember. If you forget your
password, you must delete it and store a new one. This removes
all the information you saved in confidential records.
1. Press CONFIDENTIAL FILE. You see:
ENTER A PASSWORD
THEN PRESS "RETURN"
2. Type in your password.
3. Press RETURN to store the password.
To enter confidential records immediately after storing the password, see
Steps 3-4 of "Entering Confidential File Records", below.
Entering Confidential File Records
1. Press ENTER.
2. Press CONFIDENTIAL FILE. You see:
TYPE IN CONFIDENTIAL
INFORMATION
3. Type in the record.
Note: Each confidential file can hold up to 54 lines of information.
The maximum length for the first 53 lines is 24 characters each
and for the last line is 23 characters.
4. Press ENTER to store the record, then repeat Steps 3 and 4 to store more
records.
If you want to enter another mode, press any mode key to store the
record and go to that mode.
Note: If you typed in a space, number, or symbol (for example #, -, +)
as the first character, INVALID FILE appears and the record is not
stored. The first character must be a letter.
Recalling Confidential File Records
1. Press CONFIDENTIAL FILE. You See:
TYPE IN YOUR PASSWORD
THEN PRESS "RETURN"
2. Type in your password, then press RETURN. The Confidential Index
appears.
Note: If you enter the wrong password, you see:
YOUR PASSWORD WAS NOT
ENTERED CORRECTLY
PLEASE TRY AGAIN
3. Press \/ or /\ to position the selection arrow (>) to the left of the
desired file, then press RETURN. The entire record appears.
Or, type the first letter of the confidential record you want to recall.
Notes: If more than one record begins with the specified letter, PLEASE
TYPE NEXT LETTER appears. Type in the next character of the
desired record.
If you do not type in the next character in about 2 seconds, the
organizer displays the first record that starts with the speci-
fied letter. To avoid the 2-second pause, press >.
If the displayed record is not the one you want, press > to
scroll through the records in alphabetical order.
If no record starts with the letter you entered, NO FILE MATCH
PLEASE TRY AGAIN appears.
4. Press CONFIDENTIAL FILE to return to the Confidential Index.
Changing The Password
This procedure changes the password, but does not delete any stored infor-
mation.
1. Press CONFIDENTIAL FILE.
2. Press DELETE.
3. Type in your password, then press DELETE again. ENTER A PASSWORD THEN
PRESS "RETURN" appears.
4. Type in the new password, then press RETURN.
Note: If you do not enter a new password within 3 minutes, the organ-
izer reverts to the previous password.
Deleting The Password
If you forget the password, you must delete it before you can store a new
password.
CAUTION: This procedure also deletes all confidential records!
1. Press CONFIDENTIAL FILE.
2. Type in 00000 (five zeros), then press RETURN. You see:
WARNING!!!
YOUR CONFIDENTIAL FILES
WILL BE DELETED!
ARE YOU SURE THAT YOU
WANT TO CONTINUE? Y/N
3. If you remember your password, press N. The display returns to the
password prompt. Type in your existing password, then press RETURN.
If you are sure you want to delete the password, press Y. All previously
entered confidential records are deleted. Type in your new password
(1-5 characters long), then press RETURN.
