Removing The Battery Slip

Your directory comes with a battery slip to preserve battery power during
shipping.  Before you can use the directory, you must remove the slip from
the battery compartment.  Grasp the slip between your thumb and finger and
gently pull it out.

Opening/Closing The Cover

To open the cover, press the button on the front of the directory and lift
up the cover.

To close the cover, press it down until it locks into place.

Resetting The Memory

You must reset the directory's memory before you use it the first time.
You can also reset the memory when you want to clear all records you have
stored, if the directory is not working properly, or if you forget your
secret code.

CAUTION:  This deletes all stored records, the date, time, and daily alarm
          settings, and the secret code from the directory's memory.

To reset the directory, use a pointed object (such as a straightened paper
clip) to press  RESET.
