Turning the Organizer On and Off
Press ON/OFF to turn on the organizer, then press the correct function key
to enter the mode you want. Press ON/OFF to turn off the organizer.
To conserve battery power, the organizer automatically turns off after
about 7 minutes if you do not press a key.
Turning the Key Tone On and Off
To set your organizer to sound a tone each time you press a key, press TIME
to select the Home Time mode, then press INS/. A beep sounds, and
appears when the key tone is on.
To turn off the key tone, press TIME to select the Home Time mode, then
press INS/ again. disappears.
Using the Backlight
To turn on the backlight, press the light button (lightbulb icon). To turn
off the backlight, press the light button again.
Note: The backlight turns off automatically after about 20 seconds.
Setting the Date and Time
When you set the time and date for your home time zone, all other world
times are set automatically.
1. The screen for your home time has a # in the top line. Press TIME
until # appears.
2. Press EDIT. The seconds digits flash.
3. Press SEARCH up or SEARCH down until the code for a city in your time
zone appears on the display.
Note: If your city is not listed, use a city in the same time zone as
yours.
4. Press DST (C) to turn Daylight Saving Time on or off. A sun icon
appears when Daylight Saving Time is on.
5. Press 12/24 (Z) to set the clock to 12- or 24-hour format. AM appears
on the display in the 12-hour format.
6. Press the arrow keys to move to the digit you want to change, then use
the number keys to enter the year, month, day, hour, and minute.
7. In the 12-hour format, press AM/PM (X) to choose AM or PM.
8. Press ENTER to store the setting.
Note: If the information you enter is invalid (for example, you enter 15
for the month), the invalid digit flashes on the display after you
press ENTER. Re-enter the correct digit, then press ENTER.
Viewing World Times
Once you set your home time, you can follow these steps to view the time
in 31 other cities around the world.
Note: The world time screen does not show a # in the top line.
1. Press TIME until # disappears. The date and time in the last selected
city appear on the display.
2. Repeatedly press SEARCH up or SEARCH down to select the city you want.

3. Press DST (C) to turn on or off Daylight Saving Time.
Notes: When you turn on Daylight Saving Time, the organizer
automatically adjusts the time of U.S. cities accordingly.
Not all cities use Daylight Saving Time.
Daily Alarm
You can set an alarm to sound at a set time of day. When the daily alarm
is on, (()) appears on the display and a tone sounds for about 15
seconds at the set time.
To silence the alarm, press any key.
Note: Because pressing any key turns off the alarm, the alarm might not
sound if you are entering information at the precise alarm time.
Setting the Daily Alarm
1. Press ALARM to enter the daily alarm mode.
2. Press EDIT. ? appears and the first hour digit flashes.
3. Use the number keys to enter the alarm hour and minute.
Note: If you make a mistake, press > or < to move forward and backward
to the digit that you want to change. Then enter the correct
digit.
4. In the 12-hour format, press AM/PM to set the alarm time to AM or PM.
5. Press ENTER to store the alarm time. (()) appears. The alarm is set
to sound.
6. Press TIME to return to the current date and time display.
Turning the Daily Alarm On and Off
1. Press ALARM. ALARM and the current alarm time appear.
2. Press INS to turn the alarm on. (()) appears on the display's left
side when the alarm is set to sound. Press INS/ to turn the alarm
off. (()) disappears.
Note: Turning the daily alarm on or off does not affect the schedule
alarms.
Phone Directory
The phone directory lets you store a contact's name and two telephone
numbers into each phone directory record. The name can be up to 48
characters, and each telephone number can be up to 48 digits.
Entering a Phone Directory Record
1. Press PHONE. NAME?, SPC (space), a number showing the available memory,
and TEL appear on the display.
Note: FULL appears on the display if the memory is full. You can
delete phone directory records to free memory.
2. Enter the contacts' name.
Notes:
The organizer stores names alphabetically, so you might want to enter
the last name first.
To enter a space, press SPACE.
To select a symbol (-, ., $, , , /, [,], ', or :), repeatedly press
SYM. Then press > to select the symbol.
If you make an incorrect entry, use the arrow keys to move to the
character you want to change, then type the correct character over the
old one.
To insert a space before a character, press INS.
3. Press arrow down. Type the first phone number.
Note: Press SYM to enter a hyphen or SPACE to enter a space.
4. Press arrow down. Type the second phone number.
5. Press ENTER to store the record. WAIT... briefly appears on the
display.
Note: Repeat steps 2-5 to enter the next phone directory record.
6. Press TIME to return to the Home Time display.
Recalling a Phone Directory Record
You can recall a phone directory record either by sequential or direct
recall.
Sequential Recall by Name
1. Press PHONE to enter the phone directory.
2. Press SEARCH down to view the first record sorted alphabetically by
name.
3. Press SEARCH up or SEARCH down to view the previous or next record.
Direct Recall by Name
1. Press PHONE to enter the phone directory.
2. Enter the first few characters of the desired name.
3. Press SEARCH down to search for names that begin with the entered
characters. WAIT... appears, then the first record that begins with
the characters you entered appears.
Note: If a matching record is not found, NOT FOUND appears on the
display.
4. Press SEARCH up or SEARCH down to view the previous or next record
stored sequentially.
Editing a Phone Directory Record
1. Recall the record you want to edit.
2. Press EDIT. A flashing cursor appears on the first character of the
contact's name.
3. Use the arrow keys to move the cursor to the character or digit you
want to change.
To change a character, simply type the correct character.
To change a character to a space, press SPACE.
To add a character, press INS so a space appears, then enter the
character.
To delete a character, press DEL.
4. When you finish editing, press ENTER. WAIT... briefly appears.
Deleting a Phone Directory
1. Recall the record you want to delete.
2. Press DEL. DELETE? (Y/N) appears.
3. If you are sure, press Y. The entire directory record is deleted.
Otherwise, press N. The record remains unchanged.
Schedule Alarms
Schedule alarms help you stay in control of your busy schedule by reminding
you of meetings and other important events. For each schedule alarm, you
can enter an alarm message of up to 48 characters.
At the set alarm time, the alarm sounds for 15 seconds and your stored
message appears on the display. If the organizer is off at the alarm
time, the organizer turns on, sounds the alarm, and displays the alarm
message.
To silence the alarm, press any key.
Notes:
Because pressing any key turns off the alarm, the alarm might not sound if
you are entering information at the precise alarm time.
If the alarm sounds and the alarm message appears while you are entering
information, the information you are entering might not be stored.
Entering a Schedule Alarm Record
1. Press SCHED. SCHED?, SPC, a number showing the available memory, and
SCH appear.
Note: FULL appears on the display if the memory is full. You can delete
schedule alarm records to free memory.
2. Enter the alarm message.
To enter a space, press SPACE.
To select a symbol, (-, ., $, , , /, [,], ', or :), repeatedly press
SYM. Then press > to select the symbol.
If you make an incorrect entry, use the arrow keys to move to the
character you want to change, then type the correct character over the
incorrect one.
3. Press arrow down. The first digit of the year flashes.
4. Enter the alarm date (year, month, day).
5. Enter the alarm time.
Note: In the 12-hour format, press AM/PM (X) for a PM time.
6. Press ENTER. WAIT... flashes momentarily and a bell appears. The
alarm is set to sound.
Note: Repeat steps 2-7 to enter the next schedule alarm.
7. Press TIME to return to the Home Time display.
Turning the Schedule Alarm On and Off
The schedule alarm is set to sound when the alarm time is set. To turn off
the schedule alarm, press SCHED then INS/ so the bell clears from the
display.
To turn on the schedule alarm again, press SCHED the INS/ so bell appears.
Recalling a Schedule Alarm Record
You can recall schedule alarm records using either sequential recall by
alarm time or direct recall by alarm message.
Sequential Recall by Alarm Time
1. Press SCHED to enter the schedule alarm mode.
2. Press SEARCH down to view the next scheduled alarm record.
3. Press SEARCH down to view the next record or press SEARCH up to view
the previous record (in chronological order).
Direct Recall by Alarm Message
1. Press SCHED to enter the schedule alarm mode.
2. Type the first few characters of the desired schedule message.
3. Press SEARCH down to view the first record that begins with the
characters you entered.
Note: If a matching record is not found, NOT FOUND appears on the
display.
4. Press SEARCH down to view the next record or press SEARCH up to view
the previous record (in chronological order).
Editing a Schedule Alarm Record
1. Recall the schedule alarm you want to edit.
2. Press EDIT. A flashing cursor appears on the first character of the
display.
3. Use the arrow keys to move the cursor to the character you want to
change.

Deleting a Schedule Alarm
Schedule alarms are not deleted automatically after they sound. You must
delete outdated alarms to free memory.
1. Recall the schedule alarm you want to delete.
2. Press DEL. DELETE? (Y/N) appears.
3. If you are sure, press Y. The entire schedule alarm record is deleted.
Otherwise, press N. The record remains unchanged.
Memo/To-Do Function
Use the memo function to store important messages. Use the to-do function
to list activities you need to accomplish.
Entering a Memo or To-Do Record
You can enter a record of up to 48 characters, and two lines of telephone
numbers (each line can hold up to 48 digits).
1. Repeatedly press MEMO/TO-DO, the type of record you want to enter
appears (memo or to-do). SPC, a number showing available memory, and
MEMO or TODO appear on the display.
Note: FULL appears on the display if the memory is full. You can
delete memo/to-do records to free memory.
2. Enter your message.
To enter a space, press SPACE.
To select a symbol (-, ., $, , , /, [,], ', or :), repeatedly press
SYM. Then press > to select the symbol.
If you make an incorrect entry, use the arrow keys to move to the
character you want to change, then type the correct character over the
incorrect one.
3. Press ENTER to store your memo. MEMO? or TODO? reappears with the
remaining available memory.
Note: Repeat steps 3-4 to enter the next memo or to-do record.
4. Press TIME to return to the Home Time display.
Recalling a Memo or To-Do Record
You can recall a memo or to-do record using sequential search or direct
search. Memos and to-do records are sorted alphabetically.
Sequential Search
1. Repeatedly press MEMO/TODO until the type of message you want to
recall (memo or to-do) appears.
2. Press SEARCH down to view the memo or to-do record.
3. Press SEARCH down to view the next memo or to-do record or press
SEARCH up to view the previous memo or to-do record.
Direct Search
1. Repeatedly press MEMO/TODO until the type of message you want to recall
(memo or to-do) appears.
2. Type the first few characters of the desired memo or to-do record.
3. Press SEARCH down to recall the first memo or to-do record that begins
with the characters you typed.
Note: If a matching memo or to-do record is not found, NOT FOUND
appears on the display.
4. Press SEARCH up or SEARCH down to scroll up or down through the memo
or to-do records sequentially.
Editing a Memo or To-Do Record
1. Recall the memo or to-do record you want to edit.
2. Press EDIT. A flashing cursor appears on the first character of the
display.
3. Use the arrow keys to move the cursor to the character you want to
change.
To change a character, simply type the correct character.
To change a character to a space, press SPACE.
To add a character, press INS so a space appears then enter a character.
To delete a character, press DEL.
4. Press ENTER. WAIT... appears. The edited memo or to-do record is
stored.
Deleting a Memo or To-Do Record
1. Recall the memo or to-do record you want to delete.
2. Press DEL. DELETE? (Y/N) appears.
3. If you are sure, press Y. The entire memo or to-do record is deleted.
Otherwise, press N. The memo or to-do record remains unchanged.
Secret Records
You can keep confidential phone directly, schedule alarm, memo, and to-do
records. A single password protects the confidential information.
Note: You must enter the secret area before you can store or recall secret
records. You cannot change open records into secret records except
by retyping them.
Entering Secret Records
1. Press PHONE, SCHED, or MEMO/TODO to select the area where you want to
store secret records. Then press SECRET. PASSWORD? appears.
2. Enter a password up to 8 characters long, then press ENTER. A key icon
appears on the bottom left of the display.
Notes:
Your password can include any combination of letters, numbers, or
symbols.
Be sure you can remember your password. If you forget it, you must
reset the memory which clears all of your secret records.
3. Enter the record. When you leave the phone directory, schedule alarm,
memo, or to-do record, you are out of the secret area.
Note: After you turn off the organizer (or it automatically turns off),
the key icon does not appear on the display when you turn it back
on. To re-enter the secret area, you must press SECRET and enter
the password.
Recalling Secret Records
1. Press PHONE, SCHED, or MEMO/TODO.
2. Press SECRET. PASSWORD? appears.
3. Enter the password, then press ENTER.
4. Recall the record you want to see.
Changing the Secret Password
1. Press PHONE, SCHED, or MEM/TODO.
2. Press SECRET. PASSWORD? appears.
3. Enter the current password and press ENTER.
4. Press SECRET again. PASSWORD? appears.
5. Enter a new password and press ENTER to change the password.
Using the Calculator
Press CALC to use the calculator. CAL and 0. appear on the display.
Press the number keys in the order they appear in the arithmetic operation.
For example:
You Press: You See:
3 + 4 = 7
8 x 3 - 4 = 20
6 2 = 3
To clear a calculation, press C/CE.
Notes:
If the result of a calculation has more than 10 digits, or if you try to
divide by 0, E (error) appears. To clear the error, press C/CE.
If you enter a wrong number, press C/CE and re-enter the correct number
before you press =.
Press +/- (A) to change the displayed number's sign from positive to
negative or negative to positive.
Square Calculations
To do square calculations, follow this example.
To calculate 4.
You Press: You See:
4 x = 16.
Memory Calculations
The memory calculation feature lets you easily perform multi-step
calculations.
Use the following keys to perform memory calculations:
Press MC to clear the memory.
Press M+ to total a calculation and add the total to the value in
memory.
Press M- to total a calculation and subtract the total from the value
in memory.
Press MR to recall (display) the value in memory.
For example: (4 x 5) + (28 + 2) - (7 - 2) + (75 5)
You Press: The display's last line shows:
4 x 5 = M+ M 20.
28 + 2 = M+ M 30.
7 - 2 = M- M 5.
75 5 = M+ M 15.
MR M 60.
Note: M appears on the display when a value is stored in memory. M
disappears when you clear the memory.
Conversion Function
The conversion function lets you perform metric conversions.
The organizer can convert between the following: Celsius/Fahrenheit, mile/
kilometer, UK gallons/liters, US gallons/liters, ounces/grams, pounds/
kilograms, inch/centimeters, and yards/meters.
Follow these steps to perform metric conversions.
1. Press CONV.
2. Press SEARCH up or SEARCH down to select the units to be converted.
3. Enter the number you want to convert.
4. Press < or > to select the direction of the conversion. For example,
if the display shows DEG C -> DEG F, press < to change it to DEG C <-
DEG F. The converted number appears on the display.
