You can set the EC-383 to automatically forward Caller ID numbers to a
pager.

If page forwarding is turned on and someone picks up an extension phone,
the caller ID number will not be forwarded to the pager, and anyone on
the line will hear the sound of the EC-383 trying to dial out.  To avoid
this, turn off pager forwarding.

If page forwarding is turned on and an answering machine picks up the
line, the Caller ID number will not be forwarded to the pager, and the
answering machine will record the sound of the EC-383 trying to dial out.
To avoid this, we recommend you connect the answering machine's modular
cord to the EC-383's PHONE jack.
