Using the Calculator

To use the calculator, select (calculator symbol) from the main menu, then
press SET.   CAL.and 0. appear on the display.

For standard calculations, press the numbers and symbols (+, -, X, / or =)
in the order they appear in the arithmetic operation.  For example, press
2 + 3 =.  The answer appears after you press =.

For square calculations, such as 4 (squared), press 4 X =.

NOTES:  When you enter calculations, you do not need to press SHIFT before
        you press the numbers or symbols (+, -, X, /, . or =).

        If you enter the wrong symbol, simply press the correct one to re-
        place it.

        Press C/CE once to clear an entry (before pressing +, -, X, / or =)
        or twice to clear the display for the next calculation.

        If the result of a calculation is more than 10 digits long or if you
        try to divide a number by zero, the diary displays E (Error).  If
        this happens, press C/CE to clear the display.

        A dot appears at the left of the display if the result of the cal-
        culation is negative.
