My Own Diary
(650-0824) Lock/Unlock Faxback Doc. # 37287
Using the Lock/Unlock Feature
The diary's lock/unlock feature lets you block access to your phone direc-
tory. You must set your own 4-digit secret code to use this feature.
Locking
1. Select LOCK/UNLOCK from the main menu, then press SET. LOCK appears on
the display.
2. Enter a 4-digit secret code.
NOTE: When you enter the secret code, you do not need to press SHIFT before
you press the numbers.
CAUTIONS: Be sure to use a secret code you can remember, such as your best
friend's birthday. You can also write it down in a secret place.
Be careful when entering the secret code. If you accidentally
enter a number that is not what you want to use, you cannot go
back and enter the correct number. If this happens, write down
the 4-digit secret code you entered and see "Changing the Secret
Code", below.
3. Press SET again to store the secret code. This locks the phone direc-
tory.
Unlocking
Once the secret code is entered, you must type in your secret code to
unlock your diary every time you want to use your phone directory.
When you select the phone directory, LOCK appears on the display. Type in
your secret code. LOCK disappears and the display shows the first record.
Canceling the Lock
To cancel the lock so you can use the phone directory without entering the
secret code first, turn off the diary, then turn it back on. Select LOCK/
UNLOCK from the main menu, then press SET. When LOCK appears on the display,
enter your secret code. When your secret code disappears, enter 0000 and
press SET.
Changing the Secret Code
To change the secret code, select LOCK/UNLOCK from the main menu, then
press SET. When LOCK appears on the display, enter your old secret code.
Then type in your new secret code and press SET.
NOTE: If you forget your secret code, you cannot get to your secret infor-
mation. All you can do is clear the secret code along with the in-
formation. Press and hold T, then press RESET. Hold down both until
the display goes blank. All records entered in the diary, including
the secret code, will be lost.
