Using the Phone Directory

To use the phone directory, choose (PHONE) from the main menu. Press SET.
The display shows the first phone record, or NO DATA if you have not yet
entered any phone records.

You can enter a person's name (up to 24 characters) and a telephone number
(up to 20 characters) into each telephone record.

Entering Telephone Records

1. Press SET. The display shows NAME?

2. Type in the person's name.

NOTES: The diary stores telephone records alphabetically based on the first
word in the name, so you might want to enter last manes first.

Press SPACE to insert a space between characters.

Press and release SHIFT and then press another key to type the
       characters marked above the keys (except C/CE, AM-PM, 12-24, +, X,
and =). Each time you press SHIFT, SHIFT appears or disappears from
       the display.

To enter a slash (/), press SHIFT M.

If you make a mistake, use < or > to move the cursor to the letter
you want to change. Press the correct key to type over the wrong
character, INS (SHIFT MEM) to insert a space, or CLR to delete a
       character.

3. Press SET.

4. Use the buttons below the numbers to enter the phone number.

NOTE: When you enter phone numbers, you do not need to press SHIFT before
you press the numbers or the hyphen.

5. Press SET.

Recalling Telephone Records

Choose (PHONE) from the main menu, press SET, then use /\ or \/ to scroll
through the telephone records.

If you enter a record with a name or phone number over 12 characters, you
can only see the first 12 characters of the name or number on the display.
Press (or press and hold) < or > to see the rest of the record.

If both the name and phone number are longer than 12 characters, the rest
of the name is revealed first, then the rest of the phone number.

Editing the Telephone Records

1. Recall the telephone record that you want to edit.

2. Press EDIT. The first letter of the name flashes.

3. Use < or > to move the cursor to the letter you want to change. Press
the correct key to type over the wrong letter, INS to insert a space, or
    CLR to delete a letter.

4. Press SET. The first digit of the phone number flashes.

5. Use < or > to move the cursor to the number you want to change. Press
the correct key to type over the wrong number, INS to insert a space, or
    CLR to delete a number.

6. Press SET.

NOTE: When the memory is almost full and you edit or delete a file, the
display flashes and shows . . . ZZZ while it checks its memory.
