INSTALLING BATTERIES

Your EC-377 uses two AAA batteries (not supplied) for power.  For the best
performance and longest life, we recommend alkaline batteries, such as
Radio Shack Cat.No. 23-555.

CAUTION:  Always use fresh batteries of the required size and type.

1.  Press and push the battery compartment cover in the direction of the
    arrow to open it.

2.  Insert the batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -)
    marked inside the compartment.

3.  Close the cover.

NOTES:  When the display dims or the message LOW BATTERIES PLEASE REPLACE TO
        CONTINUE appears on the display, replace the batteries.

        When the batteries are dead or removed, you cannot operate the
        organizer, but the stored information is saved for 10 years.

INITIALIZING THE ORGANIZER

Initialize your EC-377 before you use it the first time after installing batteries, or when you want to delete all stored records, alarms, and the password.

NOTE:  If your EC-377 simply locks up or the display dims, see "Resetting
       the Organizer" on Faxback Doc. # 35213.

CAUTION:  This procedure deletes all stored information!

1.  While pressing ENTER and 3, insert a pointed object (such as a
    straightened paper clip) into the RESET hole on the left of the display,
    then press and release.  The display turns black.

2.  Release ENTER and 3.

3.  Press RESET again.  The display returns to normal, and all
    previously entered information is deleted.
