To enjoy your Radio Shack EC-369 10K Data Directory With Spell Checker for
a long time:

    Keep the EC-369 dry.  If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.

    Handle the EC-369 gently and carefully.  Don't drop it.

    Use and store the EC-369 only in normal temperature environments.

    NOTE:  At very low temperatures, the display's response time might
           slow down or it might fail completely.  This is only temporary.
           Your EC-369 returns to normal operation at warmer temperatures.

    Keep the EC-369 away from dust and dirt.

    Wipe the EC-369 with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.

Modifying or tampering with your EC-369's internal components can cause a
malfunction and might invalidate the directory's warranty.  If your EC-369
is not performing as it should, take it to your local Radio Shack store for
assistance.

RESETTING THE EC-369

If the EC-369 locks up or stops working properly, follow these steps to
reset it.

CAUTION:  Resetting the EC-369 deletes all stored information!

Insert a pointed object (such as a straightened paper clip) into the RESET
hole on the bottom of the EC-369, then press it gently.  The day, date,
and time display appears.

REPLACING THE BATTERIES

Your EC-369 is powered by two 3-volt CR2032 lithium batteries (Radio Shack
Cat. No. 23-162). When the EC-369's display dims or stops working properly,
replace the batteries.

IMPORTANT:  To avoid losing all information stored in the EC-369's memory:

    Always turn off the EC-369 before you replace the batteries.

    Install the new batteries within 1 minute after you remove the old
    batteries.

    Do not press any buttons while you replace the batteries.

CAUTION:  Always use fresh batteries of the required size and type.

Follow these steps to replace the EC-369's batteries.

1.  Turn off the EC-369.

2.  Press down and slide the battery compartment cover in the direction of
    the arrow to remove it.

3.  If necessary, use a pointed object (such as a straightened paper clip)
    to gently lift up and remove the old batteries.

4.  Insert the new batteries with the positive (+) side facing up.

5.  Replace the cover.

WARNINGS:  Keep batteries out of reach of children.  Swallowing a lithium
           battery can be fatal.

           Always disposes of old batteries promptly and properly.

           Do not burn batteries.
