(650-0837) Calculation Mode Faxback Doc. # 31609

Two calculation modes let you perform calculations.

USING THE CALCULATOR

To Enter the Calculator Mode

Highlight SYMBOL on the Main Menu, then press EXE.

The following display indicators appear in the Calculator Mode.

M= with a value: Value is stored in independent memory.

K: Constant calculation is being performed.

E: Calculation error (see "Making Corrections", below, for information
       about clearing errors).

Inputting a value then pressing an operator key (+ - x /) twice makes the
value a constant

Pressing > shifts the displayed value to the right, deleting the rightmost
digit.

MAKING CORRECTIONS

To clear only the most recent input and continue the calculation using
previous input, press C/CLEAR. This operation also clears calculation
errors.

To clear the entire calculation (and start over again), press AC/ON.
This operation also clears calculation errors.

To change an operator (+ - x /) simply input the correct operator.

To clear the independent memory contents; press MC (memory clear).

ABOUT CALCULATION CAPACITY

The following conditions cause "E" to appear to indicate that the capacity
of the calculator has been exceeded.

Whenever the integer part of a result (whether intermediate or final)
    is longer than 10 digits.

Whenever the integer part of a total being accumulated in independent
memory is longer than 10 digits.

Even if this happens, independent memory contents are protected, and
you can recall the total accumulated up to that point by pressing MR
(memory recall) after clearing the error.
