PLAYING FORTUNE-TELLER

To see your fortune, select Fortune-Teller from the men.  FORTUNETELL
appears on the display.  Press SET to see the fortune-teller's message.

NOTES:  The Fortune-Teller is for entertainment only.

        If the message is longer than 12 characters, the display
        automatically scrolls forward.  Press any key (except ON/OFF, MODE,
        or SET) to stop the scrolling.  To resume scrolling press the right
        arrow key.

PLAYING SCISSORS, PAPER, STONE

You can play Scissors, Paper, Stone with the diary.  In this game:

    Paper wins against Stone because it covers it.

    Scissors win against Paper because they cut it.

    Stone wins against Scissors because it breaks them.

Follow these steps to play the game.

1.  Select Scissors, Paper, Stone from the main menu.  YOU CHOOSE appears
    on the display.

2.  Press /\ or \/ to choose Scissors, Paper or Stone, then press SET.
    MY TURN appears on the display and it is the diary's turn to choose.
    The diary's choice appears at the lower right corner.

    If you win, YOU WIN and a happy face appear on the display and a tone
    sounds twice.

    If you lose, YOU LOSE appears on the display with a sad face.

    If the result is a draw, the diary waits for about 2 seconds,
    re-selects its choice, then restarts the game automatically.

3.  To play again, press SET, then repeat Step 2.

PLAYING HANGMAN

You can use the diary to play Hangman with your friends.  Follow these
steps and have fun!

1.  Select Hangman from the main menu and press SET.  WORD? Appears on the
    display.

2.  Type in the word you want to have your friend guess (up to 10
    characters), then press SET.  Ten Hs and a number of underlines appear,
    showing the length of the word.

    NOTE:  Do not let your friend know what word you typed in!

3.  Pass the diary to your friend and let him or her guess the word.

    For each correct guess, the correct letter appears in the correct
    place on the display.

    If all the letters are guessed correctly, a happy face shows and a
    tone sounds twice.

    With each wrong guess, one of the Hs disappears from the display.
    When all the Hs have disappeared, HUNG!, a sad face, and the correct
    Hangman word appear on the display.

4.  To play again, press SET, then repeat Steps 2-3.

PLAYING MATCH-MAKER

Match-Maker lets you know how compatible you and your friends are by
displaying a number of hearts.  The more hearts displayed, the more
compatible you are with them!  Ten hearts is a perfect match.

NOTE:  The Match-Maker is for entertainment only.

Follow these steps to play Match-Maker.

1.  Select Match-Maker from the main menu.  YOUR BIRTH? and 1994-01-01
    appear on the display.

2.  Type in your birthday (year first, then month and day).

    NOTE:  If you make a mistake, use the <  and  > to move the cursor,
           then change the number.

3.  Press SET.  FRIEND'S appears on the display.

4.  Type in the other person's birthday, then press SET.

After a few seconds, a number of hearts (from one to ten) appears.  The
more hearts displayed, the more compatible you are with your friend.
