You can use your EC-342 to perform standard arithmetic, memory, and percent
calculations.

CALCULATOR TIPS

    Use CALC/CE to enter the calculator function and to cancel the last
    entry.

    Press CALC/CE until 0 ) appears to clear the display for the next
    calculation.

    If the result of a calculation is more than 10 digits, E (000000000)
    appears. If E appears, press CALC/CE to clear the display.

STANDARD CALCULATIONS

Press the keys in the order the calculation would appear on paper. For
example:

You press:              You see:
3+4=                       7.
8x3-4=                    20.

NOTE:  Press +/- to switch between positive and negative.

MEMORY CALCULATIONS

The memory Calculations feature lets you easily do multistep calculations.

Use the following keys to perform memory calculations:
    Press ME/C twice to clear the memory.
    Press M+ to total a calculation and add the total to memory.
    Press M- to total a calculation and subtract the total from memory.
    Press MR/C again to recall (display) the value in memory.

For example, enter (4x5)+(28+2)-(7-2)+(75/5) like this:

CALC/CE                 0

NOTE:  M appears on the right of the display when you store a value in
       memory and disappears when you clear the memory.

PERCENT CALCULATIONS

Calculate percentages like this:

To calculate:
 What is 12% of 150?
You press 150x12%     The display Shows 18.
What percentage of 880 is 660?
You press 660/880%    The display Shows 75.
What is a 3% markup added to 120?
You press 120+3%       The display shows 123.6
What is a 3% discount subtracted from 120?
You press 120-3%        The display shows 116.4
