The following display symbols appear as you use your directory:

A:            You can input letters, non-English characters, commas, dots,
              numbers, hyphens, and spaces.

KEY:          The secret function is in effect.

BELL:         Schedule alarm(s) is (are) set.

TRUMPET:      The daily alarm is set.

AM:           The displayed time is morning.

PM:           The displayed time is afternoon.

UP ARROW:     More information exists above the current display.
              (Press UP ARROW.).

DOWN ARROW:   More information exists below the current display.
              (Press DOWN ARROW.)

*:            The record on the display is secret, accessible only by
              password.

SHF:          You pressed SHIFT.
              The function (SMALL UPPERCASE BOLD) can be used next.

              SHIFT also has to be pressed to enter the function for - .

NOTE:  At times "other symbols" might appear faintly on the display.  This
       does not affect your directory's operation.
