EC-442 (650-0847) Reminder Mode Faxback Doc. # 15804
You can store annual, monthly, and/or daily reminder messages that display
at a preset time. This mode differs from the scheduler in that reminders
recur periodically.
Daily reminders do not appear in the scheduler, but an alarm sounds and
the reminder message displays at the set time.
Monthly Reminder Display (appears on the same date each month)
NOTES: If a reminder alarm time is reached while you are entering or
editing the reminder that contains that alarm, the alarm does not
sound for that time. It sounds after you have stored the entry
and the alarm time is reached again.
The reminder alarm does not sound during data transfer (to/from
another EC 442 or a PC).
The alarm might not sound if battery power is too low.
SECRET DATA! appears on the display when the set time for an entry
in the secret area is reached.
Entering Reminder Data
Each reminder can contain up to 384 characters, including new line symbols.
NOTE: You follow basically the same procedure for setting annual, monthly
or daily reminders. The information you enter or omit determines
what type of reminder it is.
1. Press REMINDER to enter the reminder mode. If you prefer press CLEAR
so the MONTH? prompt appears alone on the display.
2. Enter the month for the reminder and press DATE/TIME. For monthly
reminders, enter a dash for the month.
3. Enter the date for a daily reminder, enter a dash as the date.
If you want an alarm to sound when the reminder displays, press
DATE/TIME and proceed to "Setting a Reminder Alarm." Otherwise press
NEXT.
4. Enter a reminder message.
5. Press SET.
The reminder message appears in the scheduler on the date you set. If you
set the reminder alarm to sound, it sounds for 20 seconds when the reminder
message appears on the display (even if the EC-442 is turned off). Press
any key to stop the alarm. Press ESC to return to the mode display, if
desired.
Reminders are stored in annual, monthly, and daily order. Within the same
level, the records are sorted in date/time order. Reminders that occur on
the same day without a time specified are stored in the order in which you
entered them.
