AUTOMATIC POWER-OFF
To conserve battery power, the organizer automatically turns off after
about 3 minutes of non-use. To turn on the organizer, press ON. If you
want to turn off the organizer, press OFF.
CHECKING THE MEMORY CAPACITY
Before you enter information in the organizer, check to see if it has
enough memory. To view the percentage of remaining memory capacity, press
MEM.C.

SELECTING THE MESSAGE LANGUAGE
Every menu can appear on the display in any one of the organizer's four
languages: English, French, German, or Spanish. Follow these steps to
select the message language.
NOTE: This does not affect the language the organizer uses when it speaks.
It speaks only in English.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
3. Press 5 to select Message language.
4. Press PAGE UP, PAGE DOWN, UP ARROW, or DOWN ARROW to select the
language you want to display on the screen.
5. Press FUNC to return to the function selection display.
TURNING THE KEY TONE ON AND OFF
NOTE: If the key tone function is on, the organizer beeps each time you
press a key.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selection.
3. Press 6 to select Set up.
4. Press 1 to select Set key-in tone on/off.
5. Press 1 so music symbol disappears from the left of the display. Or,
press 2 so music symbol appears.
6. Press FUNC to return to the function selection display.
ADJUSTING THE DISPLAY CONTRAST
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
3. Press and release SHIFT, then press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN once to adjust
the display's contrast.
4. Repeat Step 3 to set the best contrast.
USING HEADPHONES
For private listening, you can connect a pair of headphones with a 1/8-inch
plug to the organizer. Your local Radio Shack store sells a wide selection
of headphones.
WARNING: To protect your hearing, turn VOLUME counterclockwise to the
minimum level before you put on the headphones. After you put on
the headphones, adjust VOLUME to a comfortable listening level.
1. Insert the headphone's 1/8-inch plug into the organizer's headphone
jack located at the left of keypad.
2. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
3. Put on the headphones and adjust VOLUME for a comfortable listening
level.
TALKING FUNCTION
HEARING YOUR STORED INFORMATION
The organizer can say the information you store in the telephone, memo, and
schedule areas. First retrieve your information, then press SAY. Rotate
VOLUME to a comfortable listening level.
NOTES: If the stored information contains any letter that is accentuated
in French, German, or Spanish, the organizer does not speak after
you press SAY.
To set the speech speed and pitch, see "Setting the Speech Speed"
and "Setting the Speech Pitch."
For private listening, you can connect a pair of headphones with
a 1/8-inch plug to the organizer. See "Using Headphones."
SETTING THE SPEECH SPEED
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
3. Press 6 to select Set up.
4. Press 5 to select Set speech rate.
5. Press left arrow or right arrow to adjust the speech speed.
NOTE: Press SAY to say the word "Testing" for easy adjustment.
6. Press FUNC to return to the function selection display.
SETTING THE SPEECH PITCH
1. Follow Steps 1 to 3 in "Setting the Speech Speed."
2. Press 6 to select Speech Frequency.
3. Press left arrow or right arrow to adjust the speech pitch.
NOTE: Press SAY to say the word "Testing" for easy adjustment.
4. Press FUNC to return to the function selection display.
USING THE TIME FUNCTIONS
SETTING THE TIME AND DATE FORMATS
Your organizer can display the time either in a 12-hour AM/PM format or a
24-hour format. It can also display dates either in month/day/year format
or day/month/year format. Follow these steps to set the time and date
formats.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
3. Press 6 to select Set up.
4. Press PAGE DOWN or DOWN arrow, then press 7 to select Set format.
5. Press the number that corresponds to the time format you want.
6. Press ENTER.
7. Press the number that corresponds to the date format you want.
8. Press ENTER.
9. Press FUNC to return to the function selection display.
SETTING THE TIME, DATE, AND HOME CITY
As you set the time and date for your home time zone, the clock
automatically sets the time for other zones. Follow these steps to set
the time, date, and home city.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
3. Press 6 to select Set up.
4. Press 3 to select Set clock.
5. Use the number keys to enter the year, month, day, hour, and minute.
NOTE: If the 12-hour format is selected, specify AM or PM by pressing A
or P. See "Setting the Time and Date Formats" to change between
12-hour and 24-hour formats.
6. Press ENTER. The SET LOCAL TIME display appears.
7. Enter the first letter for the city. Or, press PAGE DOWN, then press
the first letter for the country.
If the organizer does not display the correct city, press PAGE DOWN to
select the home city.
8. Press ENTER so SPEAKING ON appears. Or, press ENTER twice so SPEAKING
OFF appears.
NOTE: If you set SPEAKING ON, every time you press CLK the organizer
speaks the current time and automatically returns to the previous
display.
9. Press FUNC to return to the function selection display.
USING THE DAILY ALARM
Follow these steps to use the daily alarm.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
3. Press 6 to select Set up.
4. Press 4 to select Set alarm.
5. Use the number keys to enter the alarm time.
NOTE: If you selected the 12-hour time format, you must specify AM or
PM by pressing A or P. See "Setting the Time and Date Formats."
6. Repeatedly press ENTER to turn the daily alarm on or off. The Bell
Symbol appears on the display to indicate the daily alarm is on.
7. Press FUNC to return to the function selection display.
When the alarm is on, the organizer beeps for about 45 seconds at the alarm
time and displays the daily alarm screen, even if the organizer is turned
off at the alarm time. You can press C/CE to silence the alarm sooner.
The organizer returns to the previous display.
VIEWING WORLD TIMES
Follow these steps to view the time in cities around the world.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press and release SHIFT, then press CLK to go to world time.
3. Repeatedly press UP arrow or DOWN arrow to select the city you want to
view.
NOTES: Repeatedly press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN to select the country and
city you want to view.
You can choose among 126 cities.
To quickly select the city you want to view, press ? or C/CE, then
enter the first letter for the city. Then time of the first city
that starts with that letter appears. Press DOWN arrow repeatedly
to select the city.
To quickly select the country and city you want to view, press ?
or C/CE, then press DOWN arrow and enter the first letter for the
country. The first country that starts with that letter appears.
Repeatedly press DOWN arrow to select the city you want to view.
USING THE TELEPHONE DIRECTORY
The organizer's telephone directory stores your important telephone numbers
and addresses. Each telephone directory entry includes three main parts; a
name, a telephone number, and an address.
ENTERING A PHONE RECORD
Follow these steps to enter a name, telephone number, and an address.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press TEL to display the telephone directory opening screen. NAME ?
appears.
Enter the name. To make it easier to recall, we suggest you enter the
last name first.
NOTES: To move the cursor left or right, press left arrow or right arrow.
To move the cursor up or down, press UP arrow or DOWN arrow.
If you want to use capital letters when entering the record, press
CAPS.
If you want to use a character that shares a key with a letter,
press and release SHIFT. Then press the key you want.
To enter an accent above a letter for French, German, or Spanish,
press and release SHIFT, then press the yellow accent key on the
top row. Finally, press the letter key.
If you want to use special symbols such as $, #, or %, press SMBL
so the special symbols are shown on the bottom of the display.
Press right arrow to view additional symbols. Press left arrow if
necessary to return to the first group of symbols. Then press the
number that corresponds to the symbol you want.
If you need to insert letters, press EDIT/INS. A flashing block
appears. Press left arrow, right arrow, UP arrow, or DOWN arrow,
to move the block to the position where you need to insert, then
enter the missing letters.
If you make a mistake, use BS (backspace), left arrow, right arrow,
UP arrow, or down arrow to position the flashing cursor below the
mistake, and enter the correct information. BS backs up and erases
the character to the left of the cursor.
You can press C/CE to cancel the entry before you press ENTER.
You enter up to 251 letters including spaces for each record.
3. Press ENTER. NUMBER ? appears. Enter the telephone number.
4. Press ENTER. ADDRESS ? appears. Enter the address.
To go to the next line without ending the entry, press the return key.
5. Press ENTER. The organizer stores the entry and automatically returns
to the telephone directory opening screen.
RECALLING A PHONE ENTRY
The organizer stores phone entries in alphabetical order. You can use any
of the following three methods to recall a phone number.

Searching by other information
Scrolling Through the Entries
Follow these steps to scroll through all of your entries.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press TEL to display the telephone directory opening screen. NAME
? appears.
3. Press PAGE DOWN to scroll in alphabetical order through the entries.
Or press PAGE UP to scroll in reverse order.
When you reach the beginning or the end of the entries, the organizer
displays NOT FOUND ! and automatically returns to the telephone directory
opening screen.
Searching by Name
Follow these steps to search for an entry by the name (or the first few
letters in the entry).
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press TEL to display the telephone directory opening screen. NAME ?
appears.
3. Enter the first few letters in the name.
4. Press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN. The organizer displays the first matching
entry. To see additional entries on order, repeatedly press PAGE UP
or PAGE DOWN.
If the organizer does not find the entry, it displays NOT FOUND ! and
automatically returns to the telephone directory opening screen.
Searching by Other Information
You can search through your entries for one that contains a specific word
or number. For example, you can search for all entries that contain the
word TEXAS anywhere in the entry. Follow these steps to search this way.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press TEL to display the telephone directory opening screen. NAME ?
appears.
3. Enter TEXAS.
4. Press and release SHIFT, then press PAGE UP and PAGE DOWN. The
organizer displays the first entry that contains those letters.
5. Press and release SHIFT, then press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN again to
display the next entry. If there are no more entries, the organizer
displays NOT FOUND ! and automatically returns to the telephone
directory opening screen.
NOTE: If no entries match what you enter, the organizer displays NOT
FOUND ! and automatically returns to the telephone directory
opening screen.
CHANGING A PHONE ENTRY
Follow these steps to change a phone entry.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press TEL to display the telephone directory opening screen. NAME ?
appears.
3. Select the entry you want to change. See "Recalling a Phone Entry."
4. Press and release SHIFT, then press EDIT/INS. A flashing cursor
appears on the first letter. Press left arrow, right arrow, up arrow
or down arrow to move the cursor to the position you need to change.
Then enter the corrections.
5. When you complete your corrections, press ENTER. The organizer
automatically returns to the telephone directory opening screen.
DELETING PHONE ENTRIES
Deleting a Single Entry
Follow these steps to delete a single entry.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press TEL to display the telephone directory opening screen. NAME ?
appears.
3. Select the entry you want to delete. See "Recalling a Phone Entry."
4. Press DEL. DELETE ? Y/N appears.
5. If you are sure you want to delete the entry, press Y. Otherwise,
press N.
6. Press TEL to return to the telephone directory opening screen.
Deleting All Phone Entries
Follow these steps to delete all phone entries.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
3. Press 4 to select Data deletion.
4. Press 1 to select TELEPHONE < TELEPHONE > and DELETE ? (Y/N) appear.
NOTE: The directory displays SECRET ON! if the lock function is on. See
"Using the Secret Area." You can only delete telephone entries if
you have set the lock function to off.
5. If you are sure you want to delete all phone entries, press Y.
Otherwise. press N. The organizer automatically returns to the
function selection display.
USING THE MEMO PAD
The organizer's memo pad lets you quickly save important information such
as flight schedules, friends' birthdays, meetings and so on.
ENTERING A MEMO
Follow these steps to enter a memo.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press MEMO to display the memo opening screen. MEMO ? appears.
3. Enter the memo. You can enter up to 254 letters (including spaces)
for each memo.
NOTES: To move the cursor left or right, press left arrow or right arrow.
To move the cursor up or down, press UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW.
If you want to use capital letters when entering the memo, press
CAPS.
If you want to use a character that shares a key with a letter,
press and release SHIFT. Then press the key you want.
To enter the accent above the letter for French, German, or
Spanish, press and release SHIFT, then press the yellow accent key.
Finally, press the letter key.

symbols are shown on the bottom of the display. Press right arrow

1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press MEMO to display the memo opening screen. MEMO ? appears.
3. Press PAGE DOWN to scroll forward through the memos. Or press PAGE UP
to scroll back through the memos.
NOTE: When you reach the beginning or the end of the memos, the organizer
displays NOT FOUND ! and then automatically returns to the memo
opening screen.
Searching by First Word
Follow these steps to search for a memo by the first few letters in the
memo.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press MEMO to display the memo opening screen. MEMO ? appears.
3. Enter the first few letters in the memo.
4. Press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN. The organizer displays the first matching
memo. To view additional memos, repeatedly press PAGE UP or PAGE
DOWN.
If the organizer does not find the memo, it displays NOT FOUND ! and
automatically returns to the memo opening screen.
Searching by Other Information
You can search through your memos for one that contains a specific word or
number. For example, you can search for all memos that contain the word
VISA. Follow these steps to search this way.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press MEMO to display the memo opening screen. MEMO ? appears.
3. Enter VISA.
4. Press and release SHIFT, then press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN. The
organizer displays the first memo that contains those letters.
5. Press and release SHIFT, then press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN again to
display the next memo. If there are no more memos, the organizer
displays NOT FOUND ! and automatically returns to the memo opening
screen.
NOTE: If no memos match what you enter, the organizer displays NOT
FOUND ! and automatically returns to the memo opening screen.

Then enter the corrections.
5. When you complete your corrections, press ENTER. The organizer
automatically returns to the memo opening screen.
DELETING MEMOS
Deleting a Single Memo
Follow these steps to delete a single memo.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press MEMO to display the memo opening screen. MEMO ? appears.
3. Select the memo you want to delete. See "Recalling a Memo."
4. Press DEL DELETE ? Y/N appears.
5. If you are sure you want to delete the memo, press Y. Otherwise,
press N.
6. Press MEMO to return to the memo opening screen.
Deleting All Memos
Follow these steps to delete all memos.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selection.
3. Press 4 to select Data deletion.
4. Press 2 to select MEMO. Then < MEMO > and DELETE ? (Y/N) appears.
NOTE: The organizer displays SECRET ON! If the lock function is on.
See "Using the Secret Area." You cannot delete all the memos
when you have set the lock function to on.
5. If you are sure you want to delete all memos, press Y. Otherwise,
press N. The organizer automatically returns to the function selection
display.
USING THE CALENDAR
The organizer's calendar can display any month from January 1900 to
December 2099.
Follow these steps to use the calendar.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press CALE to enter the calendar.
3. To move a month at a time, press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN. To move a week
at a time, press UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW. To move a day at a time,
press left arrow or right arrow.
To quickly view a specific monthly calendar, press ENTER or C/CE to
display the set calendar. Enter the year and month you want to view.
The required monthly calendar appears.
NOTE: When a calendar appears, dot(s) might appears beside a date. The
upper dot denotes one or more schedule entries in the morning on
that date, and the lower dot denotes one or more afternoon schedule
entries.
USING THE SCHEDULER
The organizer's scheduler lets you keep track of your important
appointments. Schedules are stored in chronological order.
SELECTING THE DATE
Before you enter a schedule, you must select the date. You can use one
of the following three methods to select the date you want.

Follow these steps to scroll to the date you want.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press SCHE to display the schedule opening screen. The date and
Schedule ? appears.
3. Press PAGE DOWN to scroll to the following date, or PAGE UP to scroll
back, to select the date you want.
Entering the Date
Follow these steps to enter the date.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press SCHE to display the schedule opening screen. The date and
Schedule ? appears.
3. Press UP arrow twice. Enter the month, day, and year.
Selecting From the Calendar
Follow these steps to select the date from the calendar.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press CALE to display the calendar.
3. Press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN to select the month you want.
4. Press left arrow, right arrow, UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW to move the
block to the day you want.
ENTERING A SCHEDULE
Follow these steps to enter a schedule.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Select the date you want. See "Selecting the Date."
3. Press SCHE. Your selected date and Schedule ? appears.
4. Press ENTER if the year is same as the previously entered date, then
enter the digits for the hour and minutes.
NOTE: If you have selected the 12-hour time format, you must specify AM
and PM by pressing A or P.
5. Press ENTER, then enter any information you want. You can enter up
to 244 letters (including spaces) for each schedule.
NOTES: To move the cursor left or right, press left arrow or right arrow.
To move the cursor up or down, press UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW.
If you want to use capital letters when entering the schedule,
press CAPS.
If you want to use a character that shares a key with a letter,
press and release SHIFT. Then press the key you want.

The scheduled date now has a dot next to it when you view the calendar.
A dot near the top of a date shows you have one or more schedules in
the morning on that date, and a dot near the bottom of that date shows
you have one or more afternoon schedules.
RECALLING A SCHEDULE
All schedules are stored in chronological order. You can use the following
methods to find a schedule.

Follow these steps to scroll through the schedules.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press SCHE to display the schedule opening screen. The date and
Schedule ? appears.
3. Press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN to scroll through your schedules.
Searching by Specified Date
Follow these steps to search for a schedule by the specified date.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press SCHE to display the schedule opening screen. The date and
Schedule ? appears.
3. Enter the date that you want the search to start. See "Entering the
Date."
4. Repeatedly press PAGE DOWN until you find the desired schedule.
Searching by Calendar
Follow these steps to search for a schedule using the calendar.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press CALE to select the calendar. The monthly calendar appears.
3. Press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN to select the month.
4. Press left arrow, right arrow, UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW to select the
date.
5. Press SCHE to display the schedule opening screen for the selected
date.
Searching by Description
Follow these steps to search for a schedule by the description (or the
first few letters in the schedule).
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press SCHE to display the schedule opening screen. The current date
and Schedule ? appear on the display.
3. Enter the first few letters in the description.
4. Press PAGE DOWN to search ahead of the date on the display or PAGE UP
to search back from the date on the display. The organizer displays
the first matching schedule.
5. Press and release SHIFT, then press PAGE DOWN again to search ahead
for the next schedule, or press PAGE UP again to search back for the
previous schedule.
If the organizer does not find a matching schedule, it displays NOT
FOUND ! and automatically returns to the schedule opening screen.
Searching by Other Information
This feature lets you find a schedule using a word or letter that appears
anywhere in the description within a schedule, not just the beginning of
the description. For example, to search for all schedules that contain
the word TOM, follow these steps.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press SCHE to display the schedule opening screen. The date and
Schedule ? appears.
3. Enter TOM.
4. Press and release SHIFT, then press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN. The
organizer displays the first schedule that contains that grouping of
letters.
5. Press and release SHIFT, then press PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN again to
display the next schedule. If there are no more schedules, the
organizer displays NOT FOUND ! automatically returns to the schedule
opening screen.
NOTE: If no schedules match what you enter, the organizer displays NOT
FOUND ! and automatically returns to the schedule opening screen.
Try pressing PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN repeatedly to search for the
desired schedule.
CHANGING A SCHEDULE

1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press SCHE to display the schedule opening screen. The date and
Schedule ? appear.
3. Select the schedule you want to change. See "Recalling a Schedule."

or DOWN ARROW to move the cursor to the position where you need to
change. Then enter the corrections.
5. When you complete your corrections, press ENTER. The organizer
automatically returns to the schedule opening screen.
DELETING SCHEDULES
Deleting a Single Schedule
Follow these steps to delete a single schedule.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press SCHE to display the schedule opening screen. The date and
Schedule ? appear.
3. Select the schedule you want to delete. See "Recalling a Schedule."
4. Press DEL. DELETE ? Y/N appears.
5. If you are sure you want to delete the schedule, press Y. Otherwise,
press N.
6. Press SCHE to return to the schedule opening screen.
Deleting All Schedules
Follow these steps to delete all schedule records.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
3. Press 4 to select Data deletion.

NOTE: If you have turned on the secret function, SECRET ON ! appears on
the display. See "Using the Secret Area." You cannot delete all
schedules unless you set the lock function to off.
5. If you are sure you want to delete all schedules, press Y. Otherwise,
press N. The organizer automatically returns to the function selection
display.
USING THE SCHEDULE ALARM
Follow these steps to use the schedule alarm.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press SCHE to enter the schedule. The date and Schedule ? appear.
3. Select the schedule you want. See "Recalling a Schedule."
4. Press and release SHIFT, then press EDIT/INS.
5. Press UP ARROW to move up the flashing cursor to the time line.
6. To turn on the alarm for that schedule. press and release SHIFT,
then press A so the alarm symbol appears on the display.
To turn off the alarm for that schedule. press and release SHIFT, then
press A so the alarm symbol disappears.
7. Press ENTER twice. Then the organizer automatically returns to the
schedule opening screen.
When the schedule alarm is on, the organizer beeps for about 45 seconds at
the schedule time and displays the scheduled event, even if the organizer
is off at the scheduled time. You can press C/CE to silence the alarm
sooner and the organizer returns to the previous display.
USING THE SECRET AREA
The organizer lets you lock information in a secret area. To view the
records in the secret area, you must enter the correct password.
SETTING A PASSWORD
Your organizer does not have a password when you first use it.
Follow these steps to set a password.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
3. Press 6 to select Set up.
4. Press 2 to select Set secret lock on/off. Then PASSWORD ? and [_ ]
appear.
5. Enter the password you want to use (up to seven letters, numbers, or
symbols in any combination.)
CAUTION: Be sure to use a password that you remember. You cannot retrieve
your password from the organizer. If you forget the password,
you must delete the password and all marked records. Press and
hold DEL, then use a pointed object such as a straightened paper
clip to press the RESET hole to the left of the Q key. < SECRET
DATA > and DELETE ? (Y/N) appear. If you are sure you want to
delete the password and all marked records, press Y. Otherwise,
press N.
6. Press ENTER. Set appears after the password that you entered.
7. Press FUNC to return to the function selection display.
DELETING THE PASSWORD
Follow these steps to delete the password.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to enter the function selection.
3. Press 6 to select Set up.
4. Press 2 to select Set secret lock on/off.
5. Press 2 to select PASSWORD CLEAR. PASSWORD ? and [_ ] appear.
6. Enter the correct password. Then press ENTER. PASSWORD CLEARED !
appears and the organizer automatically returns to the set up display.
TURNING ON THE LOCK FUNCTION
When you have entered a password, you can turn on the lock function. All
records you mark are invisible to any unauthorized persons while the lock
function is on. See "Marking and Locking Telephone Directory, Memo, or
Schedule Records."
Follow these steps to turn on the lock function.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to enter the function selection.
3. Press 6 to select Set up.
4. Press 2 to select Set secret lock on/off.
5. Press 1 to select Secret on. SECRET ON ! appears. Then the organizer
automatically returns to the set up display and the key symbol appears
to indicate that the lock function is on.
TURNING OFF THE LOCK FUNCTION
Follow these steps to turn off the lock function.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to enter the function selection.
3. Press 6 to select Set up.
4. Press 2 to select Set secret lock on/off. SECRET OFF and [_ ] appear.
5. Enter the correct password.
NOTE: If you do not enter the right password, INCORRECT PASSWORD ! appears
and the organizer returns to the set up display.
6. Press ENTER. The Key Symbol disappears and the organizer automatically
returns to the set up display.
MAKING AND LOCKING TELEPHONE DIRECTORY, MEMO, OR SCHEDULE RECORDS
Once you set a password, you can lock telephone directory, memo, or
schedule records so only you can access them. To lock a record, mark the
record. You can use one of the following methods to mark and lock the
entries for the secret area.
Mark and Lock an existing record
Mark and Lock a new record
Marking and Locking an Existing Record
Follow these steps to lock an existing record.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Select the record you want to mark in the telephone directory, memo,
or schedule. See "Recalling a Phone Entry," Recalling a Memo," or
"Recalling a Schedule."
3. Press and release SHIFT, then press INS.
4. Press and release SHIFT, then press MARK to mark the record. MARK
appears on the display.
5. Press ENTER to lock the record if the lock function is already on. The
organizer automatically returns to the telephone directory, memo, or
schedule opening screen.
Marking and Locking a New Record
Follow these steps to lock a new record.
1. Follow Steps 1 to 4 in "Entering a Phone Number.", Steps 1 to 3 in
"Entering a Memo," or Steps 1 to 5 in "Entering a Schedule."
2. Press and release SHIFT, then press MARK to mark the new entry.
Mark appears on the display.
3. Press ENTER to store and lock the entry if the lock function is already
on. The organizer automatically returns to the telephone directory,
memo, or schedule display.
UNMARKING A RECORD
Follow these steps to unmark a record.
1. Follow Steps 1 to 6 in "Turning off the Lock Function."
2. Select the record you want to unmark, See "Recalling a Phone Entry,"
"Recalling a Memo," or "Recalling a Schedule."
3. Press and release SHIFT, then press INS.
4. Press and release SHIFT, then press MARK. MARK disappears from the
display and the record is unmarked.
5. Press ENTER. The organizer automatically returns to the telephone,
memo, or schedule opening screen. You can view unmarked records even
if the lock function is on.
DELETING A SINGLE MARKED RECORD
Follow these steps to delete a single record that has been marked and
locked.
1. Follow Steps 1 to 5 of "Turning Off the Lock Function."
2. Select the secret record you want to delete. See "Recalling a Phone
Entry, "Recalling a Memo," or "Recalling a Schedule."
3. Press DEL. DELETE ? Y/N appears.
4. If you are sure you want to delete the secret record, press Y.
Otherwise, press N. The organizer automatically returns to the
telephone, memo, or schedule opening screen.
USING THE CALCULATOR
You can use the organizer to do standard arithmetic calculations, memory
calculations, and percent calculations.
Follow these steps to use the calculator.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selection.
3. Press 1 to select CALCULATOR.
The blue functions marked on the keys operate in the calculator mode.
Enter numbers and the decimal point using the numbers and the period(.) on
the top row.
Press C/CE to cancel the last entry.
To clear the display for the next calculation, press C/CE, then press
MC as necessary until two Os appear.
Press +/- to toggle between a plus and minus value on the display.
NOTE: If the result of a calculation has more than 10 digits, or if you
try to divide by 0, E(error) appears. If E appears, press C/CE to
clear the display.
The display has three rows. The first row shows the contents of
memory. The second shows the function you have selected (addition,
subtraction, multiplication, division, equals). The third row shows
numbers you enter and shows the results of your calculations.
STANDARD CALCULATIONS
For standard calculations, press the keys in the order they appear in the
arithmetic operation. For example:

3 + 4 = 7
8 x 3 - 4 = 20.
MEMORY CALCULATIONS
The memory calculation feature lets you easily do multistep calculations.
Use the following keys for memory calculations:
Press MC to clear the memory.
Press MR to recall (display) the value in memory.
Press M- to total a calculation and subtract the total from memory.
Press M+ to total a calculation and add the total to memory.
For example:

4 x 5 = M+ 20.
28 + 2 = M+ 30.
7 - 2 = M- 5.
75 divided by 5 = M+ 15.
MR 60.
NOTE: If the memory exceeds 9999999999, (error) appears on the display
and the memory is reset to 0. Press C/CE to clear the display.
PERCENT CALCULATIONS
Do percent calculations as shown in the following examples:

What is 12% of 150? 150 x 12% 18.
What percentage if 880 is 660? 660 (divide) 880% 75.
What is 120 marked up 3%? 120 + 3% 123.6
What is 3% discounted from 120? 120 - 3% 116.4
ENGLISH TO METRIC CONVERSIONS
Follow these steps to convert between English and metric measurements.
1. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
2. Press 2 to select Unit conversion. You see five types of conversions.
3. Choose the conversion you want by pressing the corresponding number.
For example, press 1 to choose LENGTH. The display shows the
conversion factors between miles, kilometers, meters, yards, feet, and
inches.
Or you can press UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW to choose the type of
conversion you want, then press ENTER.
4. Press UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW to choose the measurement unit you want
to convert.
5. Enter the amount you want to convert, then press ENTER. The display
shows the converted results.
6. Press C/CE to return to the unit conversion.
7. Repeat Steps 3 to 5 for other types of conversions.
8. Press FUNC to return to the function selection display.
CURRENCY CONVERSION
Your organizer can convert among sixteen currencies. The predefined
currency symbols are: US$ - U.S. Dollar, UK Symbol - British Pound, D.M. -
German Mark, F.F. - French Franc, Lira, D.FL - Dutch Guilder, B.F. -
Belgian Franc, S.F. - Swiss Franc, Yen, C$ - Canadian Dollar, and Italian
Peseta plus five currencies you define. You must set the exchange rate
for each currency.
VIEWING THE EXCHANGE RATES
Follow these steps to view the set exchange rates.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
3. Press 3 to select Currency.
4. Press 1 to select Display.
5. Press DOWN ARROW to view the exchange rates.
SETTING THE EXCHANGE RATES
Follow these steps to set the exchange rate.
NOTE: You can select any one of the currencies as the base currency and
set the exchange rates for the other currencies. You can also add
five currencies to those provided.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
3. Press 3 to select Currencies.
4. Press 2 to select Edit. The rate for US$ is highlighted.
5. To use U.S. Dollars as the basic, press DOWN ARROW and leave the
conversion rate as 1.000. Enter the rate for UK pound symbol and press
DOWN arrow. You can enter the rate for other provided currencies
through Peseta, then press DOWN ARROW.
6. To edit currencies other than the 11 provided ones, press LEFT ARROW
the highlight moves to the left. Enter the name for the currency, for
example HKD, then press ENTER. The highlight moves to 1.000. Enter
the exchange rate and press DOWN ARROW.
7. Repeat Step 6 to edit the exchange rate for other currencies.
8. Press FUNC to display the function selections.
CONVERTING CURRENCY
Follow these steps to convert currency.
1. Press ON to turn on the organizer.
2. Press FUNC to display the function selection.
3. Press 3 to select Currency.
4. Press 3 to select Calculator.
5. Press DOWN ARROW or UP ARROW to select the currency you want to
convert from.
6. Enter the amount of currency you want to convert, then press ENTER.
The organizer displays the conversion amount for all other currencies.
Use DOWN ARROW and UP ARROW to view currencies not displayed.
7. Press C/CE, then repeat Steps 5 and 6 for another conversion.
8. Press FUNC to return to the function selection display.
