             Handset - Operates as a normal telephone handset.

10-Digit LCD (Liquid - Displays a maximum of 10 digits at one time, plus
Crystal Display        the operating condition status.

      Numeric Keypad - Used to dial phone numbers and to enter codes and
                       special functions.

  Volume/Scroll Keys - Press to scroll up or down through memory, and to
                       increase or decrease volume of the handset
                       earpiece, monitor speaker, and alert tone volume.

             Speaker - Allows monitoring of calls while the handset is on
                       the cradle.

             Antenna - Receives incoming signals, Status Indicators

The following indicators appear, showing the operating conditions:

NO SVC - appears when you do not receive a clear or authorized channel, or
         A/B system.

IN USE - appears when a call is in progress.

   PWR - appears when the CP 1700 is on.

  ROAM - appears when you are out of your home area and the CP is
         searching for an A/B system.

  LOCK - appears when you have activated Full Lock to prevent unauthorized
         use.

Function Keys

SEND - Press to send calls or continue in programming.

 PWR - Press to turn the CP 1700 on and off.

 END - Press to hang-up or end programming.

 RCL - Pressed with numeric keys to recall phone numbers in memory or
       activate functions.

 STO - Pressed with numeric keys to store phone numbers in memory or
       activate functions.

 CLR - Press to delete incorrect digits and clear special codes and
       functions.
