message.
The TAD is connected to AC power.
Follow these steps to set the TAD to answer a call from a remote location.
1. Dial your phone number. After about 10 rings, the TAD answers the
call and beeps.
NOTE: If the TAD answers after the second or fourth ring, it is
already set to answer calls.
2. Enter your remote operation security code within 8 seconds.
NOTE: Wait until the TAD finishes beeping before entering the code.
3. Hang up or use any of the remote control commands.
USING REMOTE CONTROL COMMANDS
Follow these steps to operate the TAD from a remote phone.
NOTE: Unless you enter remote control command 2 (ANSWER OFF), the TAD
resets itself to answer calls after remote operation.
1. Dial your phone number.
2. After the outgoing message plays, the TAD beeps continually while it
fast-forwards through the incoming messages, then it beeps once.
Enter the remote operation security code within 8 seconds. Hold
down each button at least 2 seconds.
NOTE: If you do not correctly enter the remote operation security code
within 8 second, the TAD disconnects the call.
If the tape is full when you call the TAD, the TAD
answers after two rings. Then it sounds eight beeps
instead of the outgoing message. Enter the remote
security code within 8 seconds.
3. After the TAD beeps, enter a remote command by pressing the number
for the desired function.
After each operation the TAD beeps. To end remote operation, hang up the
phone.
NOTES: If you do not enter a command within 8 seconds after a command
prompt, the TAD sounds a beep and hangs up.
If you hang up while the TAD plays back messages, the
TAD might not recognize that you hung up. If someone
calls while the TAD continues to play the new messages,
the caller hears a busy signal.
