If the unit is new, (Never Programmed), the NAM entry code is 
[0][0][0][FUNC][#][8][1].

If already programmed with an unlock code, unlock the phone, then enter 
[UNLOCK CODE][FUNC][#][8][1].

If already programmed with a NAM PROGRAMMING CODE, then enter [PROGRAMMING 
CODE][FUNC][#][8][1].

If the phone has been pre-programmed including an ACTIVATION CODE, the 7 
digit activation code MUST be entered first.  The phone will remain 
unusable (the word "code?" will be displayed) until the 7 digit code is 
entered.

Press [FUNC][SND] to write the new data into the NAM; WAIT for the 
CHECKSUM ADJUST to be displayed (72 XX), then press [FUNC][CLR] to exit 
the programming mode.

To increment item numbers, press [#], to decrement press [*].  To jump 
forward or backward to an item, press [RCL][ITEM NUMBER].  To change an 
entry, enter the new information and press [STO].  After entering all the 
new information, press [FUNC][SND] then press [FUNC][CLR].  It is NOT 
necessary to jump to the end of programming first.

If the programming mode was entered to check locations (no new information 
was entered, or the [STO] key has not been pressed), it is not necessary 
to press [FUNC][SND].  [FUNC][CLR] by itself will exit the programming 
mode.

A-KEY

To program the A-KEY, enter [2][5][3][9][FUNC][FUNC].  Enter the 20 digit 
A-KEY followed by the 6 digit checksum.  Then press [STO][STO].  If 
"invalid" is displayed; either ESN, A-KEY (with checksum) or MIN do not 
agree.  If "valid" is displayed, press [END] to exit.

When using Multi-city registration, only 3 AUTHENTICATION GROUPS (mobile 
phone number, A-KEY with checksum, ESN and SSD update info) can be entered  
Each of the 3 authentication groups are stored as a complete set so the 
phone number will be matched with the proper A-KEY etc.  Only 3 registered 
phone numbers are supported for authentication.  Any registered numbers 
beyond these 3 can only be used in non-authenticated systems.

A-KEY's (with checksum), SSD info, and so on, are provided by the CARRIER.
