Best performance is achieved after battery is fully charged and fully
discharged for three cycles.
2. Connect 9 volt AC Adapter plug to any standard 110 volt AC outlet.
Trickle charging begins. Display shows "Charging". A fully discharged
Extra Talk Time NiCd battery charges in approximately 10 hours.
A fully discharged Ultra Light NiCd battery charges in approximately 6
hours. Do not let the battery charge for more than 24 hours.
Note: Battery Memory Effect of Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) Batteries
Repeated partial charging and discharging of rechargeable Nickel
Cadmium (NiCd) batteries results in a "memory" that reduces battery
charging capability. To erase "memory effect", fully discharge the
battery as follows: operate the phone until the battery alarm
sounds; leave phone in standby mode (turned on) until phone powers
itself off. When phone no longer responds to [ON/OFF] key, battery
is fully discharged. Follow instructions for charging the battery.
------- Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) ------
Talk Time Standby Trickle Charging Time
Ultra Light Battery 70 min 9 hrs 6 hrs
Extra Talk Time Battery 120 min 14 hrs 10 hrs
---- Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) ----
Talk Time Standby Trickle Charging Time
Ultra Light Battery 90 min 12 hrs 8 hrs
Extra Talk Time Battery 140 min 18 hrs 12 hrs
All times are approximate.
Checking the Battery Meter
1. Quickly press [ON/OFF]. Display current battery voltage from 0 (low)
to 5 (high) bars.
When you Hear the Low Battery Alert
1. Replace battery immediately. Your phone allows you to maintain a call
for approximately 5 seconds while changing batteries.
Your phone will audibly alert you to a low battery condition during
call in progress or stand-by mode. During a call, you typically have
up to 5 seconds to replace the battery without dropping the
connection.
2. Recharge battery. Whenever possible, allow NiCd batteries to fully
discharge before recharging. Repeated partial recharging may reduce
battery capacity.
