Using Display Indicators
Checking the Battery Meter
1. Press [ON/OFF]. Displays current battery voltage from 0 (low) to 5
(high) bars.
Checking the Signal Strength Indicator
1. Fully extend antenna. Provides best reception.
2. Check phone display. Shows 0 to 5 bars (weakest to strongest signal),
If less than two bars, change your position until signal improves.
When you Hear a Weak Signal Alert
1. Make sure antenna is fully extended. When placing or answering calls,
5 high pitch tones indicate weak signal conditions. Display shows
"Weak Signal". Conditions may be improved by changing your location.
2. Place your call when signal conditions improve. Check Signal Strength
indicator (0 to 5 bars) on phone display to determine if signal
conditions have improved.
Using Individual Call Timer
1. Check phone display during a call. Displays length of call in
progress; time remains displayed 5 seconds after call termination.
Interpreting Service Indicators
Service Indicators provide you with information on cellular service.
No Service: - Indicates you are out of a cellular service area
and are unable to place or receive calls.
IN USE Icon: - Appears when placing or answering calls and during
conversation.
ROAM Icon: - Indicates you are within a "host" system (your
local cellular provider may have established
special roaming relationships in other cellular
coverage areas).
Flashing ROAM Icon: - Indicates you are within a cellular coverage area
outside of your "home" area and the provider is
not a "host" system.
Using Volume Controls
Adjusting the Ringer Volume
1. Press [/\] or [\/]. Level appears on display. When ringer is set to
lowest level (silent), keypad tones are also silent and display lights
up and flashes "CALL" to indicate incoming call.
Adjusting the Earpiece Volume
1. Press [/\] or [\/] during a call. Level appears on display.
Adjusting the Dial Tone and Keypad Volume
1. Press [TALK] + [/\] or [\/]. Level appears on display.
Using Dialing Functions
Manual Dialing
1. Press [TALK]. Dial tone indicates you may place your call.
2. Dial using number keys [QZ 0] through [WXY 0]. Maximum of 48 digits
can be entered. Automatically places call within seconds.
Manual Dialing (Alternate Method)
1. Dial using number keys [QZ 0] through [WXY 9]. Maximum of 48 digits
can be entered.
2. Press [TALK]. Call is placed.
Redialing Last Number
[REDIAL]
1. Press [ R ]. Automatically places call to last phone number dialed.
Correcting Misdials/Clearing Display
1. Press [ON/OFF]. Clears all numbers entered.
Sending Touch Tone Signals
1. Press [QZ 0] through [WXY 9] or [#] or [*]. Sends touch tone or DTMF
(Dual Tone Multi Frequency) signals during a call. Tones activate most
answering machines, voice mail, pagers and other touch tone accessible
services.
Hook Flash Features
Your cellular provider may offer call waiting, conference calling, or
other services requiring a "hook switch" or "hook flash" key. Press
[FLASH] when hook flash is desired.
Using One Touch Dialing
Storing Numbers in Memory
1. Enter telephone number to be stored. Telephone numbers can be stored
in twelve Memory Locations, including number keys [1] through [WXY 9];
memory keys [FLASH] and [MUTE]; and [#] (if not programmed for special
services by your carrier).
2. Press [MEMORY]. Display asks you to chose a Memory Location with
"Select 1-9".
3. Press [1] through [WXY 9], [FLASH], [MUTE], or [#] to select desired
Memory Location. If phone beeps and display responds with "Update?",
Memory Location chosen is already taken.
4. Press [1] (yes) to update or [QZ 0] (no) to return to "Select 1-9"
prompt. Choose another memory location number.
Storing Numbers in Memory (Alternate Method)
1. Press [MEMORY]. Telephone numbers can be stored in twelve Memory
Locations. Display prompts with "Enter Num:".
2. Enter telephone number to be stored. Display asks you to choose a
Memory Location with "Select 1-9".
3. Press [1] through [WXY 9], [FLASH], [MUTE], or [#] to select desired
Memory Location. If phone beeps and display responds with "Update?",
Memory Location chosen is already taken.
4. Press [1] (yes) to update or [QZ 0] (no) to return to "Select 1-9"
prompt. Choose another memory location number.
One Touch Dialing
1. Press [FLASH], [MUTE], [#] or Memory Location number [1] through
[WXY 9] and hold for 1 second. Displays number stored in location
chosen. Beep tone confirms call has been automatically initiated.
Note: Memory Location [WXY 9] is always available, even when phone is
locked.
Carrier Service Hot Key
Your dealer may have programmed the [#] key for convenient one touch
access to special services. consult your dealer for more information.
Emergency Services
Fujitsu suggests you dedicate Memory Location [WXY 9] for storing 911 or
the appropriate emergency access number for your area. Memory Location
[WXY 9] is always available for one touch dialing, even when phone is
locked.
Using the Security Lock
Locking the Phone
1. Press [#], [#], [#]. Phone displays "Lock?"
2. Press [1] (yes) to lock or [QZ 0] (no) to cancel. Locks phone to
prevent outgoing or incoming calls. Regardless of lock setting, calls
to 911 and access to Memory Location [WXY 9] and the Emergency number
programmed into that location are never blocked.
Unlocking the Phone
1. Display shows "Locked".
2. Using keypad, enter 3 or 4 digit Unlock Code. Unlock Code is assigned
during dealer programming of the phone. Keypad tones are silent
during Unlock Code entry. If you make a mistake while entering, turn
phone off, then on, and start again. Should phone fail to unlock,
confirm your Unlock Code, turn phone off, then on, and try again. If
problems persist or you do not know your Unlock Code, contact your
dealer.
Note: Dealers frequently program Unlock Codes as the last 4 digits of
your telephone number.
Emergency Calling
1. Press [WXY 9] + [1] + [1] + [TALK]. Regardless of lock setting, calls
may be placed to emergency number 911. Display responds with
"Emergency".
2. (Optional) Press and hold [WXY 9]. Fujitsu suggests you dedicate
Memory Location [WXY 9] for storing 911 or the appropriate emergency
access number for your area. Use of Memory Location [WXY 9] is never
blocked, even when phone is locked.
