Qualcomm QCP-820 Cellular Phone
(170-1219) Power Faxback Doc. # 47375

USING THE BATTERY

The phone comes with a rechargeable battery pack. There are 5 types of
batteries available for use with this phone (see Faxback Doc. # 47381).
Remember to fully charge your battery as soon as it gets low on juice in
order to maximize the talk time and standby time.

Installing and removing the battery

The battery pack snaps easily into the back of the phone, bottom end
first, for quick installation and removal. Make sure to turn the power
off before removing the battery. Otherwise, you may lose stored numbers
and messages.

Charging the battery

The battery charge level is shown at the top right of the display.

When the battery charge level gets low, the battery sensor will let you
know by displaying "Low Battery" and sounding an audible tone. If the
battery level gets too low, the phone will switch off and any function in
progress will not be saved.

MORAL: Charge your battery when it starts getting near that tell-tale
blinking stage, using the standard QUALCOMM AC adapter charger or
the optional travel charger, desktop charger, or cigarette
        lighter adapter.

WARNING: Only use QUALCOMM approved chargers and adapters. Using the
wrong adapter may cause damage to your phone.

1. If the battery is not already attached then snap the battery into
place on the back of the phone - bottom end first.

2. Plug the standard AC adapter into a wall outlet.

3. Insert the other end of the cord into the bottom of the phone. The
phone's display should immediately indicate that the phone is
charging. Charging a completely discharged standard NiCad battery
should take approximately 2.5 hours; the Extended LiIon battery takes
approximately 6 hours; the Slim LiIon battery takes approximately 4
    hours; the Ultra-light LiIon battery takes approximately 2.5 hours;
and the NiMH battery takes approximately 3 hours (see Accessories, in
    Faxback Doc. # 47381).

If the phone is on, you'll see "CH" in the upper left corner of the
display. It's telling you that the phone is charging. When the battery
is fully charged, you'll see "FCH" in the upper left corner. If the phone
is off, the display will show charging status with a "Battery is Charging"
or "Charging is Complete" text message.
