Carry Phone Assembly Procedure
The items included with your Motorola cellular mobile carry phone are
shown in Faxback Doc. # 46672. The following procedure will guide you
through the assembly of your carry phone.
Step 1 Remove the cellular telephone transceiver and handset from
the packing box.
Step 2 Remove the carrying bag from the packing box. Open the
carrying bag and remove the cigarette lighter connector
assembly, rubber o-ring, thumbscrews, antenna, battery (if
included) and battery charger (if included).
Step 3 Carefully connect the 25-pin connector (of the cigarette
lighter connector assembly) to the front of the transceiver
and hand tighten the two thumbscrews into the threaded holes
at the end of the transceiver.
Step 4 Locate the antenna port on the transceiver front. Find the
rubber o-ring and slide it on the port. Screw the antenna
tightly on the port so that it compresses the o-ring. This
will prevent the antenna from loosening. Align the antenna
vertically along the power connector assembly.
Step 5 Slide the transceiver into the carrying case compartment with
the antenna positioned along the outside of the case.
Step 6 Place the top of the antenna inside the elastic loop. Zip the
compartment closed. Be sure to connect the cigarette lighter
plug to the cigarette lighter socket on your vehicle dashboard
when you are ready to use your phone.
Note: Steps 7-11 should be followed if your carry phone is
equipped with a battery.
Step 7 Charge your battery for 14 hours or overnight using the AC
charger before attempting to use the cellular telephone.
Step 8 Orient the battery so that the cigarette lighter socket is
farthest from the end of the carrying case with the antenna.
Carefully connect the power connector by inserting it into
the cigarette lighter socket of the battery.
Step 9 Slide the battery and transceiver into the carrying case
compartment with the antenna positioned along the outside of
the case.
Step 10 Plug the handset coil cord connector into the modular
connector socket on the side of the transceiver. Move the
hang up cup aside to allow room to insert the connector.
Step 11 Place the handset into the hang up cup.
