If you've experienced any of the following difficulties while using your
phone, use this troubleshooting guide to help you remedy the problem.
Should any problem persist, consult your nearest Sony dealer.

Symptom                       Remedy

Making Calls:

You hear five short error     Make sure you set up the base unit correctly
beeps when you press [TALK].  (see Faxback Doc. # 46203).

                              Move the handset closer to the base unit.

You hear no dial tone.        Make sure the telephone line cord is securely
                              connected to the telephone outlet.

                              Make sure the battery is fully charged.
                              (see Faxback Doc. # 46203).

The phone doesn't connect     Make sure the dialing mode is set correctly.

The phone doesn't redial      Make sure the last dialed number is really

Receiving Calls:

The handset doesn't ring.     Set the RING ON/BATT SAVE switch on the

                              # 46203)

                              Make sure you set up the base unit correctly
                              (see Faxback Doc. # 46203).

                              Move the handset closer to the base unit.

During Conversations:

You hear interference         Move the handset closer to the base unit.
during conversation.

You hear a beep every second  It is an out of range alarm.  Move the

Caller ID:

Note on the troubleshooting

If any of the remedies did not work, there may be something wrong with the
handset.

Replace the handset on the base unit, then pick it up and try again. If the
handset is on the base unit, pick up the handset and replace it again.
