Your Radio Shack ET-499 Deluxe Cordless Telephone offers these latest
advances in cordless phone technology:

Communication Scrambler - prevents outside parties with communication
                          devices such as scanners, baby monitors, and
                          other cordless phones, from listening to your
                          conversation.

     Advanced Super CCT - provides clarity comparable to corded phones,
              Circuitry   reduces background noise, and increases the
                          effective operating distance.

    10-Channel Selector - lets you select the channel with the best range
                          and least interference with the touch of a button.
  
       Automatic Access - changes each time you return the handset to the
        Protection Code   cradle to help prevent other cordless phone users
                          from using your phone line.
 
                COM-LOK - guarantees that other cordless phone users cannot
                          use your phone line when the handset is on the
                          cradle.

Your phone also includes the following special features:

          Paging System - lets you send a signal from the base to the hand-
                          set so that you can page someone of easily locate
                          the handset when it is away from the base.

       30-Number Memory - lets you quickly dial important phone numbers.
 
                Privacy - prevents the person on the other end of the phone
                          line from hearing you as you talk to someone in

standards.

Note: Your phone operates on standard radio frequencies as allocated by the
      FCC. It is possible for other radio units operating nearby on similar
      frequencies to unintentionally intercept your conversation or cause
      interference.  However, your phone's communication scrambler feature
      helps ensure your privacy by scrambling communication between the
      handset and base.
