(170-1017) Care and Safety Faxback Doc. # 41388

We recommend that you follow these care and safety instructions. Failure to
comply with the care instructions may invalidate your warranty.

Storage:

Keep your telephone away from all liquids. Do not store or carry flamm-
able liquids, gases or explosive material in the same compartment as your
telephone. Do not leave the telephone in direct sunlight. Do not subject
  the telephone to excessive temperatures.

Cleaning:

Wipe the telephone with a soft cloth dampened with a mild solution of
soap and water. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, strong
detergents or petroleum-based solvent cleaners when cleaning your tele-
  phone.

Save driving:

Using a telephone while driving is hazardous. Park the vehicle in a safe
place before making or answering a call, or use the hands-free mode.

Refueling:

Switch off the telephone when at a refueling point.

Electronic speed-control, ABS-brake and fuel-injection systems:

Although these systems are relatively immune to malfunction caused by
nearby radio transmissions, should you experience false operation of
these systems, or if in doubt, please consult your vehicle dealer.

Blasting areas:

Observe and follow directions not to use your telephone in areas where
  blasting is taking place.

Using the Soft Pack Transportable in an aircraft:

Switch off your cellular telephone when in an aircraft; the use of cell-
ular telephones in an aircraft may be dangerous to the operation of the
aircraft, disrupt the cellular network and is illegal. Failure to observe
this instruction may lead to suspension or denial of cellular telephone
services to the offender, or legal action or both.

Interference with nearby electronic devices (Soft Pack Transportable):

The radio frequency used by your telephone may interfere with certain
nearby electronic devices (e.g., a pacemaker). Switch off the telephone
when it may cause interference or danger (e.g., when in a hospital), or
when any regulations in force in the area instruct you to do so.

Vehicle not in use:*

Note that leaving the telephone switched on for several days when the
vehicle is not in use may flatten the battery.

Starting the engine:*

Starting the engine during a call may cause the call to be cut off.

* Applies to a Mobile telephone or Soft Pack Transportable powered from
  the vehicle battery.
