DTMF Options (B3)

DTMF tones may be sent during a call (e.g., to interrogate bank accounts
  or telephone answering machines).

Continuous DTMF tones are normally sent but standard length DTMF tones
  may be sent if desired.

This function allows you to select the length of the DTMF tones:

Standard: Standard-length tones will be sent.

Continuous: Tones will be sent for as long as each respective digit key
                is held down.

    'DTMF CONT.' Continuous

Press [END] to exit.

When in a call, DTMF data can be sent in two ways:

    1. By entering digits:

With a normal display showing, press the digits required. Each digit
is sent as it is displayed.

    2. By recalling a memory location:

The digits stored in any memory location can be sent by pressing RCL
and then the digits of the memory location number (e.g. for location
16, press [1 QZ] [6 MNO]). All the digits displayed are then sent
automatically. Using this method, only standard length tones are
sent regardless of the DTMF Options setting.

When in a call, you may access the Memory (using STO or RCL) or the Menus
(using MU) and then use the dialing keys, including # and *, without
causing any DTMF tones to be sent.

The microphone is muted when DTMF tones are being sent.

Horn Alert (B4)

Operates only if horn-alert wiring is connected.

Provides an external alert (e.g. from car horn or headlights) of incoming
  call, when ignition is off.

When activated, the alert sounds or flashes 10 times.

Alert stays active for 4 hours after it has been selected.

Ignition must be off in order to enable Horn Alert.

The HORN indicator illuminates when Horn Alert is selected.

Horn alert is also canceled by switching ignition on, or by switching tele-
phone off and on.

Press [END] to exit.

Set to 'HORN NO ALERT' if function is not required.
