AB - Shows which network is in use.
     A - - - A system only
     B - - - B system only
     AB  - - both systems
     Blank - home area only

ALPHA - Shows that the phone is in ALPHA mode and letters can be keyed in
        or displayed.

MENU - Shows that the MENU key has been pressed.

The bars on the right side of the display - Shows battery charge.

IN USE - Shows that a call is in progress.

The bars on the left side of the display - Shows cellular signal strength.

ON - Shows that the phone is switched on.

NO SVC - Shows that the phone is outside cellular service area.

ROAM - Appears when the phone is outside its home service area.
