SELECTING THE PHONE NUMBER

If you subscribe to two cellular services (for example competitive cellular
systems in different cities), your dealer programs your phone with two
different phone numbers. Each number is stored in a NAM (Number Assignment
Module).

NAM SELECT lets you select which number to use (if two have been
programmed).

NOTES: You cannot change the selected NAM during a call. If you try to
change to the other NAM during a call, the phone displays CALL IN
        PROGRESS and exits the menu.

If you need to receive calls on both numbers, set both numbers to
forward to the other number if not answered. Contact your service
providers for details on using their call forwarding features.

To change the active phone number:

1. Press (MENU), use the arrows to scroll to NAM SELECT, then press (OK).

The phone displays the currently selected phone number.

2. Use the arrows to select the number you want to use, then press (OK) to
    confirm your choice.

SETTING THE CELLULAR SYSTEM TYPE

Using the phone in a city where you do not subscribe to a cellular service
is referred to as roaming.

Each cellular market area has two cellular service providers. One of the
providers is designated Provider A and the other Provider B. When your
phone is activated for service, find out from your dealer whether your
cellular provider is type A or B.

NOTES: Usually, it is less expensive to use the same company for cellular
service when you are in your home city and when you roam. To do
this, you need to know whether your cellular service provider is
type A or B in your home city and in each city where you plan to
        travel.

It is possible for the cellular service provider to be (or have
agreements with) Provider A in some cities and Provider B in
        others.

The System Select function lets you select one of four possible roaming
modes:

HOME TYPE A* or HOME TYPE B**

Use this setting if you are roaming and your home city cellular service
provider is the same provider type as in the city you have traveled to (for
example, if the company is Provider A in both cities).

NON-HOME TYPE B* or NON-HOME TYPE A**

Use this setting if you are roaming and your home city cellular service
provider is the opposite provider type from the city you have traveled to
(for example, the company is Provider A in your home city and Provider B in
the other city).

HOME AREA

Use this setting if you do not want to roam (you can only use the phone
within the area covered by your home cellular service provider).

BOTH SYSTEMS

Use this setting if you want the phone to use either Provider A or Provider
B in the city you have traveled to, whichever has the strongest signal.

* When System A NAM is selected.
** When System B NAM Is selected.

NOTE: The home system depends on the type of the currently selected NAM.
The phone displays the selected type (A, B, AB, or neither) in the
upper left corner of the display.

To select the roaming mode, set the cellular system type as follows:

1. Press (MENU), then use the arrows to select SYSTEM SELECT.

2. Press (OK). The phone displays the currently selected mode.

3. Press the arrows to scroll to the desired option, then press (OK).

ROAMING

In some areas, the cellular system's computer automatically recognizes
roaming telephones. In other areas, you must contact the service provider
before it can recognize your phone. The operator needs to know your
telephone number, your phone's ESN (Electronic Serial Number), and how you
plan to pay for your calls. There is normally an additional charge for
roaming calls.

NOTE: Your phone's ESN is under the phone's battery. (However, the roaming
cellular service providers can usually automatically determine your
phone's ESN when you call them to register your roaming presence on
       their cellular network.)

When you roam the ROAM indicator flashes when the phone is using a cellular
system that is different from your home system (non-home type system). The
indicator turns on steadily when you roam using your home type system.

CALL TIMERS

Your phone has three call timers that let you check the duration of your
calls in minutes and seconds (for example, 12345:12 equals 12:345 minutes
and 12 seconds). You can also reset the call timers.

1. Press (MENU) (6 MNO).

2. Use the arrows to scroll through the options.

LAST - Shows the duration of the last or current call.

TOTAL 1 - Shows the duration of all calls you have made using the
selected phone number (not including the call in progress).

TOTAL 2 - Shows the duration of the calls you have made using the
              non-selected phone number. (See above)

CLEAR TIMERS - Resets all call timers to ZERO.

3. When the phone displays the desired option, press (OK).

If you select CLEAR TIMERS, the phone prompts you to enter your four-
digit lock code (LOCKCODE?). Enter your lock code and press (OK). The
phone briefly displays TIMERS CLEARED to confirm that all timers have
    been reset to zero.

NOTE: The actual time invoiced for calls by your cellular service provider
might vary, depending on network features, rounding-off for billing,
       and so forth.

If you select NO CARD, the phone erases all card information and exits
the menu. If you select one of the card options, the phone prompts for
the network access number (ACCESS NUMBER?), if required.

4. Enter the access number, then press (OK).

The phone prompts for the card number (CARD ID CODE?).

           to the phone number entered.

to the network. Continue with the call as you normally would.

NOTES: If you activate AT&T, the phone number is sent to the network
after you press and hold (SEND), and the card number is sent
            after the first dial tone.

With the 10 ATT option, the AT&T access number is preprogrammed
into your phone and the access, phone, and card numbers are
sent after you press and hold (SEND).
