SETTING OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES

Various external accessories, such as in-car mounting kits, are available
for your phone (see "Optional Accessories", below).  After you connect the
accessories to your phone, the Accessory menu function lets you change the
phone's settings for the accessories:

1.  Press MNU 9.

    If no accessories are connected, or an accessory with no associated
    menu is connected, the message NONE PRESENT appears.

    If you have one or more accessories connected, the phone displays the
    name of the first accessory.  Press /\ or \/ to scroll to the accessory
    whose setting you want to change.

2.  Press STO to select the desired accessory menu.

3.  Press /\ or \/ to scroll through the accessory options.

4.  Press STO to set the desired option.

NOTE:  The messages generated by specific accessories can be found in the
       owner's manuals supplied with them.

AUTO ANSWER MODE

Note:  The auto answer function only works when the phone is connected to
       the Handsfree Speakerphone Car Kit (see "Optional Accessories",
       below).

If set to AUTO ON, the phone automatically switches from standby to answer
mode after the first ring of an incoming call.

1.  Press MNU 8.

2.  Press /\ or \/ to select either AUTO ON or AUTO OFF.

3.  Press STO to confirm the setting.

DATA MODE - USING THE PHONE FOR DATA TRANSMISSION

The data mode function lets you send data through a modem adapter during a
call.

NOTE:  The phone must be connected to a data-compatible accessory in order
       to send data.

Press MNU 1 2.

NOTE:  You must have a call in progress otherwise the message NO CALL
       ACTIVE appears.

When the phone is in the data mode, it displays DATA ACTIVE.

OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES

HANDSFREE SPEAKERPHONE CAR KIT (CAT. NO. 17-741)

Includes handset cradle, speaker, and microphone for handsfree in-car
operation, plus a battery charger which plugs into the cigarette lighter
socket.

BASIC CAR KIT (CAT. NO. 17-740)

Includes handset cradle plus mounting plate.

STANDARD BATTERY (CAT. NO. 17-738)

Slim, lightweight battery pack with 10 hours of standby time, 50 minutes
of talk time.

EXTENDED-LIFE BATTERY (CAT. NO. 17-739)

Standard replacement battery pack with 26 hours of standby time, 110
minutes of talk time.

CIGARETTE-LIGHTER CHARGER (CAT. NO. 17-616)

Lets you charge and use the CT-355 from your vehicle's cigarette-lighter
socket.

DESKTOP CHARGER (CAT. NO. RSU-11466208)

Lets you charge your CT-355 flip-style phone or spare battery.
