PRECAUTIONS
* Operate the unit on the power sources specified in "Specifications".
* Before initial use, insert the rechargeable battery into the battery
compartment of the handset and charge it for more than 10 hours.
* To disconnect the power cord, pull it out by the plug, not the cord.
* Do not place the unit on surfaces (rugs, blankets, etc.) or near
materials (curtains, draperies) that block the ventilation holes.
* Do not place the base unit on or near a TV set or a personal computer to
avoid interference.
* Do not install the base unit in a location near a heat source such as
radiators or airducts, or in a place subject to direct sunlight,
excessive dust, moisture, rain, mechanical vibration, or shock
* Should any liquid or solid object fall into the base unit, unplug the
unit and take it to you local Radio Shack store for service.
* This unit is designed and approved for single party lines only. It
should not be connected to multiple lines or a coin telephone.
* To clean the casing, use a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent
solution.
BATTERY WARNING
When the unit will be left unplugged for a long time, remove the battery to
avoid undue battery discharge and damage to the unit from battery leakage.
FCC Information
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a
Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits
are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference
in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can
radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance
with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio
communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not
occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful

INFORMATION FOR GENERAL TELEPHONES
This equipment complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules. On the bottom of
this equipment is a label that contains, among other information, the FCC
registration number and ringer equivalence number (REN) for this equipment.
If requested, this information must be provided to the telephone company.
The applicable registration jack (connector) USOC-RJ11C is used for this
equipment.
This equipment is designed to be connected to the telephone network or
premises wiring using a compatible modular jack which is Part 68 compliant.
The FCC compliant telephone cord and modular plug is provided with this
equipment.
The REN is used to determine the quantity of devices which may be connected
to the telephone line. Excessive RENs on the telephone line may result in
the devices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In most, but not
all areas, the sum of the RENs should not exceed five (5.0). To be certain
of the number of devices that may be connected to a line, as determined by
the total RENs, contact the local telephone company.
If you equipment (SCT-100) causes harm to the telephone network, the
telephone company will notify you in advance that temporary discontinuance
of service may be required.
But if advance notice isn't practical, the telephone company will notify
the customer as soon as possible. Also, you will be advised of your right
to file a complaint with the FCC if you believe it is necessary.
The telephone company may make changes in its facilities, equipment,
operations or procedures that could affect the operation of the equipment.
If this happens the telephone company will provide advance notice in order
for you to make necessary modifications to maintain uninterrupted service.
If trouble is experienced with this equipment (SCT-100),for repair or
warranty information, please contact your local Radio Shack store. If the
equipment is causing harm to the telephone network, the telephone company
may request that you disconnect the equipment until the problem is
resolved.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
WARNING: This telephone operates as a radio transmitter. Conversations
over this cordless telephone may be heard by others on radios
within the area of its range of transmission.
