ALPHA The telephone is ready to accept alphabetical characters
when storing a name and number in the memory. Alter-
natively, it may be scrolling through the memory per-
forming alpha (name) search to locate the number asso-
                 ciated with a specified name.

NSVC Cellular service is not available; calls may not be made
                 or received.

Audible Tones The telephone will produce the following audible tones:

                 - a ringing tone, to denote an incoming call,

                 - a keypress confirmation tone (short tone), denoting a
                   valid keypress,

                 - a keypress error tone (longer tone) denoting an invalid
                   keypress,

                 - three short (warbling) tones to denote auto-answering.

                 - alert/warning tones.

When a handset cradle is used (i.e., as for a Mobile
telephone, or Soft Pack Transportable with hands-free
                 option):

                 - all tones are produced via the loudspeaker in the
                   cradle,

                 - the keypress confirmation tone is a DTMF tone for the

single tone for the other keys.

For a soft Pack Transportable without the hands-free
                 option (i.e., no handset cradle):

                 - the tones are produced via the handset ringer,

                 - the keypress confirmation tone is a standard short tone
                   for any key.
