IMPORTANT:  You must connect the battery inside the handset before charging
            the phone and operating it.  Follow these steps to connect the
            battery.

1.  Press down on the handset's battery compartment cover and slide it off
    to remove it.

2.  Pull and lift the front tab on the battery restraining strap to remove
    it.

3.  Connect the battery's wires to the battery connector inside the
    compartment.

4.  Replace the battery restraining strip and the cover.
