NOTE: You cannot use your CP 4600 without proper authorization.

POWER ON/OFF

To turn your CP 4600 on, press and hold PWR for more than 2 seconds. When
the phone turns on, you will see a test of the LCD Display.

The CP 4600 will perform an internal self-test. If it has been programmed,
you will see a "Power On Message" for about 2 seconds.

To turn the CP 4600 off, press and hold PWR until you hear the "Power Off"
beep tone.

STANDBY MODE

After the "Power On Message", you'll see the "NO SERVICE" message until the
phone establishes contact with your system. If the Signal Strength
Indicator "S" is blinking, you are outside your cellular service area. Try
changing your location. Or, you may need to select a different type of
service.

NOTE: When the Battery Pack voltage is low, the Battery Status Indicator
(B.) blinks several times. Then the "RECHARGE BATTERY" message will
be displayed. Turn the CP 4600 off, and recharge the Battery Pack.

After the phone establishes contact with your service, you'll see the
"Standby" display. You're now ready to receive or place calls.

LOCK MODE

If the CP 4600 is in either Full or Half Lock, the appropriate message will
be displayed.

MUTE

During a phone call you've received or placed, you can use the Mute
function to prevent the other party from hearing anything on your end.
Simply press MUTE. The display shows that the CP 4600 microphone is
disabled.

To continue the conversation, press MUTE again.

Mute is automatically disabled when you end the call.

MONITOR

There may be times when you are dialing or on a call, when you want to put
the phone down, but still hear the other party. Use the Monitor function
for this. Press MON either before you dial, or during a call. The display
will indicate you are in the Monitor mode.

In the Monitor Mode you can hear the other party through the Monitor
Speaker. The CP 4600 microphone is disabled in Monitor Mode, so the other
party will not hear you.

Press MON again to return to normal operation.

RECEIVING AND PLACING CALLS

Receiving a Call

When you receive an incoming call, the Alert Tone beeps and you'll see the
"CALL" message.

To answer the call, press any key except PWR, /\, or \/. You'll see
"INUSE" on the display.

Ending a Call

To end a call, press END.

Placing a Call

There are 4 ways to place a call with the CP 4600:

    A. Manually
    B. Last Number Redial
    C. Speed Dialing with Memory
    D. Recalling Numbers Stored in Memory

A. MANUALLY PLACING A CALL

Enter the digits of the phone number with the numeric keys as you would
with any telephone. As you enter each digit, it appears on the display.

NOTE: The LCD can display only 15 digits at a time. As you enter more
digits, the phone number scrolls off the left side of the LCD.

To see numbers that have scrolled off the LCD to the left, press RCL # to
scroll one digit to the right. To scroll more than one digit to the right,
press RCL # and hold # until you have scrolled as far as you want.

To see numbers that have scrolled off the LCD to the right, press RCL * to
scroll one digit to the left. To scroll more than one digit to the left,
press RCL * and hold * until you have scrolled as far as you want.

If you make a mistake entering the number, press CLR to erase the last
digit entered. You can press CLR as many times as you need to erase the
wrong digits.

You can also press and hold CLR for more than 1.5 seconds to erase the
entire number. When the beep tone stops, all entered digits have been
erased.

When you have entered the desired number, press SEND. You'll see "INUSE"
displayed with the number.

Automatic Retry

If you place a call and hear no sound after you press SEND, your system is
busy (not necessarily the called number) and the call did not go through.
Your CP 4600 will automatically retry the call up to 9 times. The LCD will
show the number of the retry, with a short beep tone. You can stop
Automatic Retry at any time by pressing END.

NOTE: Even though the LCD displays "INUSE" you will not be charged for any
air time until the call goes through.

B. LAST NUMBER REDIAL

The last number called is stored in the Last Number Buffer. To redial the
number, press SEND before you press any other key. If you want to check
the number before redialing, press RCL 0 0.

C. SPEED DIALING WITH MEMORY

Speed dialing is the quickest way to recall and dial a telephone number.

1. If you know the Memory Location of the number you're calling, press the
two digit code for the Memory Location (e.g. 1 2).

NOTE: For memory locations 01-09, just press 1-9.

2. Press SEND. If the Memory Location has a number stored, and is not
locked, the phone will automatically dial the number.

3. If the Memory Location is locked, the phone will not dial.

    a. Press STO.

    b. Enter the Lock Code. You will not hear any key tones as you enter
the Code, and you will not see the actual digits entered.

    NOTES: The factory pre-set code is 0 1 2 3.

If you enter the wrong Code, the memory Location will not be
unlocked. Go back to Step 3a.

    c. As soon as you enter the last digit of the Code correctly, the
        phone dials the number.

If a pause has been programmed in the stored number, the phone
dials only up to the pause, and then stops. To continue the
dialing sequence from that point, press SEND. This function is
useful when multiple numbers must be dialed for certain access
        codes.

4. To use numeric data stored in memory during a call (such as credit card
numbers, access codes, or bank-by-phone identification), press RCL and
the two digit code of the memory location (e.g.2 5) during your phone
call. As soon as the second memory location digit is pressed, the
    stored numbers are sent.

2. Press STO to enter Alpha Search.

3. Enter from 1 to 8 letters to identify the name you're searching for.

    match.

If you press and hold /\ or \/ for more than 1.5 seconds, the memory will
begin scrolling automatically. To stop the scrolling, press any key.

enter the letter I, press 5 three times. To enter the letter E press 3
twice, and so on. After you enter a letter, wait 2 seconds for the cursor
