TURNING THE TELEPHONE ON

Press END

Your telephone number displays briefly.

The battery level indicator is shown in the lower right corner of the
display.   A fully charged battery shows 4 bars.

A battery which is almost discharged shows no bars.

TURNING THE TELEPHONE OFF

Press END key until you hear a beep.

ANSWERING A CALL

1.  Press SEND.

    Air time meter and the telephone symbol appear on display.

2.  When conversation is finished, press END.

    NOTE:  UNANSWERED CALL COUNTER.  If you have not answered one or more
           calls, the number of unanswered calls displays.  For example,
           "02 CALLS".  The unanswered call counter resets as soon as you
           press any key.

           Prevent unauthorized use of your telephone by using call
           restrictions.  Find restriction options in your menu by
           scrolling to "RESTRICTED" using the # key.  Make your choice,
           then press FCN to select.

VOLUME CONTROL

During a conversation:

1.  Press /\\/ and hold to adjust volume up and down.

    "EAR VOL" and volume strength indicator appears.

    The display will show a number on the right indicating the volume level
    (0=lowest, 8=highest).

2.  Press /\\/ and release to change setting down.

    NOTE:  MUTE KEY.  Press F during the call to activate mute feature.
           Press F to cancel mute feature and return to conversation mode.

PLACING A CALL

1.  Turn telephone ON (END).

2.  Enter the telephone number.

    If you enter a wrong digit press CLR key to erase a digit or hold CLR
    for 1 second to erase all digits entered.

3.  Press SEND

    "DIALING" and the telephone symbol appear on display.

NOTE:  When a person answers your call, "DIALING" is replaced by an air
       time meter in Minutes -- Seconds.  When a call ends, the elapsed air
       time displays for an additional two seconds.  The air time of an
       outgoing call includes the time taken to connect the call.  The air
       time meter is only a guide; actual billing time from your cellular
       service provider may differ.

UNSUCCESSFUL CALLS

If one of the following occurs, the call will not go through.

SITUATION          CAUSE

Busy Tone          The line is busy.  Press END. and try the call later.

Fast Busy Tone     The system did not process the call.  Press END and
                   try again.

System Operator    Listen to the message and instructions given by
                   operator.

Short Beep         Check signal strength or service indicator.  If no bars
                   are shown or "NO SERV" displayed.  Press END and wait
                   until you move the telephone to an area with a stronger
                   signal.

Hook Flash - During a call, hook flash allows access to services such as
             call waiting and conference calls.

             Press SEND during a call to activate.
