Deaktop Weatheradio (120-0241) Power Sources Faxback Doc. # 6753
You can power the radio from a 9-volt battery or standard AC outlet.
BATTERY
To use battery power, you need a 9-volt battery, such as Radio Shack
Catalog Number 23-553 or 23-583 (Not included). Follow these steps to
install the battery.
1. Remove the battery cover by pressing down on the cover and sliding it
in the direction of the arrow.
2. Snap the battery connector over the battery contacts.
3. Place the battery in the battery compartment and replace the battery
compartment cover.
Note: Remove the battery if you do not plan to use the radio for a week
or more, or if you use AC power. Weak batteries can leak chemicals
and damage the radio.
AC POWER
To power your radio from a standard AC outlet, you will need an AC adapter
(not included), such as Cat. No. 273-1662.
Caution: You must use an adapter that supplies 7.5 to 9 volts and
delivers at least 50 milliamps. Its plug must correctly fit the
radio's DC 9V jack. Using an adapter that does not meet these
specifications could seriously damage the radio or the adapter.
1. Insert the adapter's plug into the radio's DC 9V jack.
2. Plug the adapter's module into a standard AC outlet.
