Once you install a battery, the thermometer automatically displays the 
current outdoor and indoor temperatures as indicated by the labels OUTDOOR 
and INDOOR.

The thermometer measures the temperature and updates it display every 10 
seconds.

Note:  If HH.H degrees appears on the indoor or outdoor display, this
       means that the temperature has exceeded or fallen below the
       thermometer's measurement range (see "Specifications" in Faxback
       Doc. # 52944).  When the temperature returns to within the
       measurement range, the display returns to the current temperature
       display.

Changing the Degree Format

You can view the temperature in Fahrenheit (F degrees) or Celsius (C 
degrees) format on ht thermometer.

To change the degree format for both the indoor and outdoor displays, set 
C/F degrees on the back of the main unit to the desired format, then press 
RESET.

Checking the Maximum/Minimum Temperatures

The thermometer stores the maximum (highest) and minimum (lowest) indoor 
and outdoor temperatures.

To recall the maximum temperature, press MAX.  The maximum indoor and 
outdoor temperatures appear on the display and MAX appears in the top and 
bottom displays.

To recall the minimum temperature, press MIN.  The minimum indoor and 
outdoor temperatures appear on the display and MIN appears in the top and 
bottom displays.

To return to the current temperature display. press MAX or MIN again.  MAX 
or MIN disappears from the display and the current indoor and outdoor 
temperatures reappear on the display.

To clear the highest and lowest temperature measurements from the 
thermometer's memory, press RESET.

Note:  Replacing the battery also resets the maximum and minimum
       temperatures.

Resetting the Current Temperature

To reset the thermometer, press RESET.  The thermometer briefly displays 
MAX, MIN and -188.8 degrees E, for about 3 seconds.  Then the current 
temperature readings reappear on the display.
